Wild mage path

My drow - upon taking a level of wizard - was prompted to take a path.
I selected wild mage path. By typing path into chat box as prompted
Examination of "thingy" which list gifts -list wild mage as path.
when i cast: Nahal's Reckless Dweomer (first level spell; has a requirement of wild mage path) - i get feedback that spell fails as can only be cast by wild mages.
Leveling up was recent and server might not have reset. I will post here again if it continues to fail as a spell after a reset. (many things like abilities corrected by resets - and that may be the reason)
