I have a low level good dwarf...who entered the Grotto to do a writ...down that way.... he died and came alive in Andunor
Is this supposed to happen....is there a way out?

Re: Lost in Andunor
The reason this happened is that the Grotto is on the [Und] subserver, and anyone who dies on the [Und] subserver will resurrect in Andunor. So yes, this is expected behavior.
There is a way back, but if you die again trying (as is likely if you are very low-level), the Fugue Plane mazes for [Und], [CnP] and [Sur] are linked. If you die on the [Und] server but walk through the maze to [Sur], you will be able to resurrect to your [Sur] resurrection point, which by default is in Whidershin Edge.

To expand on what Amateur Hour said: when you die and go through the Fugue maze, you can find stairs going up or going down. Those are the one used to change servers.
It is a -very- easy mistake to make when you are just starting.
