Is Zen Archery working?

Post by Kamuizin » Sun May 07, 2023 1:59 am

Atm i'm using a shaman, lvl 9, with 25 Wisdom (+7 modifier), using a normal longbow and normal arrows and i have the Zen Archery Feat.

When an arrow hit, the damage is normally between 3 to 6, no damage resisted on the battle log. Shouldn't my minimum damage be 8 (roll 1 on 1d8 + 7 modifier)?

This system is based off 3.0 D&D - Ranged attacks do not get your ability modifier to damage by default. Thus, assuming that you are still getting your Wisdom bonus to hit, Zen Archery is working as intended.

You say this, but being MILDLY MEAN to people is treated like a war crime on Arelith.

it only gives you an AB bonus, you get damage from strength and only if the bow you're using has mighty modifier on it. most longbows have a +4 mighty, so you only need 18 str to get damage out of it ( with buffs/gear this is easily doable )

zen mastery isn't very useful on arelith apart from some very niche picks, like with cleric ( since they can buff their damage )
