Reading the new update has me a little confused as to what armor I should gear for my bard character. He's going to be a 26 Bar/ 4 Fighter build, and I currently have him in studded leather. Should I be going for heavy armor, since he's a meelee build?

Heavy armor is still better. Especially since you are getting it for free from fighter levels.

You will be free this way to have 8 dex, buff it to 12 with cats grace, and max out your AC in that armor. If you went medium you would need to gear up 5 more points of dexterity, which you don't really want to do as your gearing can be focused on STR and CON.

The reason I am buffing medium is because it is falling even further behind heavy with the recent update. I am just keeping it somewhat viable instead of useless.
