Disguisers Manual

Post by Cuchilla » Thu Oct 16, 2014 5:26 am

On how you as a disguised char can make it easy for other players to handle that you use -disguise. It's all suggestions! So please add fancy things that make it more fun for all of us ...
  • -disguise is a disguise feature, NOT a description or nickname feature. Acceptable uses of -disguise should either make yourself inconspicuous (e.g. "Grubby Man") or look like someone you're not (who may or may not exist). Don’t use it as "titles in names", to describe character or as a name change feature. Keep it short.
Change suit, cloak, helmet and weapons, according to what disguise you use.
Keep descriptions for every disguise you have. An easy accessible text document, from where you can copy-paste the various disguises you use, comes in handy.
Respect when you loose the *looks* and is recognized. And try to remember to whom you lost the roll.
Make a name that is easy for other players to act from. "Real" names like Jacky Jones. Avoid disguises that are questionable, like "tinker". (How are players expected to see what tinker? And are you the same "tinker" as the last "tinker" they met or another one?)
Remember that as easy it is for you to remember the story of your char, other players only see it in glimpses, fractions. So if you expect us to remember, make it easy for us to do so, also for future encounters. And also remember that we meet a lot of disguised persons all the time. So make it easy for us to recall how our last encounter went.
Good gaming!
