Alternative Name Spelling!
So I guess this Thread may come in useful if you're more stupid than the average bear, like me. Alternative name spellings, that Arelith'll accept. I'm talking dashes, full stops, accents and all that good stuff.
Basically someone please help me dear god I need alternate ways to spell Stath Stoutheart that won't absolutely screw with my currently corrupted character, who's soon going to be deleted and remade with a fresh name.

If you delete it, you can make a new with the same name, no?

Two suggestions:Stath wrote: Basically someone please help me dear god I need alternate ways to spell Stath Stoutheart that won't absolutely screw with my currently corrupted character, who's soon going to be deleted and remade with a fresh name.
A. Make it Strath Stoutheart. (Just adding a "R" between "St"- and -"ath"). Keeps p`retty like your current name and giving it a bit more of strengh...
B. Add a blank space before the name, then spell the exactly same name

I use the "[" and "]" to indicate where start the name, not that you included that in your name.
The database will codify that empty starting space as a symbol, counting as a diferent name.
In theory you can if the character were not in Epic levels... but it's buggy... and only will work after a reset I thinkWinter83 wrote:If you delete it, you can make a new with the same name, no?
I kept getting bugs and issues when trying to redo some characters with the same name.
This happened to me with Aeon... Now my Aeon is called [ Aeon] while I used the solution B... and worked!
I am guessing the database keeps your old deletted character and he won't be entirely gone untill a reset of the servers.
The frecuent bugg I got when trying to remake a certain character with the same name, was getting the gifts I selected in the previous deleted character not appearing (like if they were already taken) but not getting them yet and allowed to select news ones...
To make a new one without the need to wait for a reset, you can apply any of the solutions I said above...
And after a new reset... I think you could ask to a DM to move you into the starting creation area and rename your character as he was called before, once you could pick the name in a safety way.
Disclaimer: All what I write are simple opinions of a player and always with honest intention to contribute constructively and from respect, but with a poor knowledge of English.
Thank you

Stath "Suicidal Admiral" Stoutheart.
Or change the surname to Stouthart.
Or change the surname to Stouthart.

Re: Alternative Name Spelling!
Self titles are not permitted so the suicidal admiral part would cause a dm to force you to change your name
You have the thanks of a grateful server conglomeration of nations... Thanks!

Re: Alternative Name Spelling!
You can just put first and last name in the first name slot at character creation.

You can use accented characters and that sort of thing in names. Ask Mondero about it.

Re: Alternative Name Spelling!
As an information:
If your characters are bugged:
Do NOT create a character with the same name, or where the last name is changed by one letter somewhere at the end, or anything of their ilk. Do not use Accents, tildes, dashes, apostrophes, etc. It will make restoration so much harder, and might even corrupt the files to the point where THEY CANNOT BE RESTORED AT ALL !!!!
So ... your character is corrupt, you find yourself auto-banned, contact us, and be patient. While we are trying to resolve these as fast as we can, even we sometimes may find a time where we are not in front of a computer.
Bear with us and do not recreate!
Stath, you are all fixed up now.
