My store is up for bid

Post by Waldo52 » Wed Dec 08, 2021 5:13 pm

I was confused to find that my shop went up for bid. I can still place objects in it but chose not to because I had to re-bid and didn't want to lose everything if I didn't get it. Is this normal? Do stores just randomly go up for bid even when someone owns them?

I'm Willham Pigsbane and the shop is Ol' Piggums' Squealin' Deals in Sencliff.

Most homes and shops on are timers that require the owner to click on them to refresh the clock. It's a feature to keep valuable properties from sitting unused if players leave etc.

When was the last time you check the shop prior to seeing it up for bid? Most have a 7 RL day timer but some are longer.

I was in the middle of a very difficult move, it may have been 7-9 days since I refreshed the place.

I'm not sure of the exact timers for properties, but that sounds like long enough to cause it to go up for bidding.

Gratz! If you check the sign it will tell you the length of time you have between refreshing

Usually it's 7 RL days for quarter and 14 for shops. Though some have different timers

I think there is something abit off with this script i hadn't logged on for 5 days due to RL and then i did and found my quarter had gone and was owned by someone else.

Some shops / quarters have different timeout timers for when they go up for Bidding / Sale. If you want this looked into, let DMs know which store / quarter it involves so they can look into it.
