The Hailpocalypse

All the images above are results of last night's catastrophic hailstorm where I live, a point so ridiculous I didn't think it was even possible. there was NO snow involved, only icy rocks falling down like meteors. Many people's roofs were totalled to the point even furniture and electronics got blasted. About 400 of people in a hospital had to be moved due to the hospital roof getting absolutely wrecked. Mayor also has confirmed state of calamity, whatever that means here. I think I had one of the "less bad" scenarios but even then my room looked like a cinematic ruin with all that rain pouring down. No casualties reported. Only house I found entirely unharmed was our dog house, which is very controversial since it's roof is made of GLASS, it wasn't even fractured.

Posting this with the intent to show some friends, and also some idle reporting, I guess.

Some more photos, these from me and family of our house and surroundings:

Woah. Glad you're alright. We had a similar hailstorm here in Melbourne a few years back.

Link to a local news TV video, it's in portuguese but shows how crazy it was. Click "PULAR ANUNCIO" on top right if you get an ad, skip to 0:21 if you don't care about portuguese language.

O.o

that is scary!
That is VERY scary!

Glad you are okay and I really hope, everyone else is, too. but :( that sort of hail is ... Hell. I hope everyone will get a chance to rebuild and continue with their lives, but I'm afraid, that sort of weather can be so damaging, that some will have a hard time recovering.

Thoughts are with the region!

We had a storm like that in the spring when we lived in the Dakotas years ago. We had grapefruit sized hail. Several folks were killed.

Sorry to hear that bro. I had a storm like that in Texas once. Softball sized hail and my mother felt it nessassary to run out into the lawn and pick up the hail, put in a bucket, and then use it to keep the stuff in the freezer/fridge cold (the power oviously went out). Protective gear? My bike helmet... Still think she's crazy. Clever mby, but crazy.

Glad to hear your alright though!

At least you and yours are alright mate! Must be pretty tough having to repair all that damage though, bloody hell. I kind of feel like a big wuss for once running out into the backyard and plucking my cat to safety in a tiny hailstorm though, huehue.
