Ability to select a stream. Maybe you want to summon spirits rather than zombies, or fey rather than fiends, or drowned men as a cleric of Umberlee - from level 1 for RP reasons. Would be nice to be able to spend a reward for it (though major is a bit pricey)
Huh.

I quite like this idea actually. I'll try and bookmark it at the back of my head. It might make a good minor/normal award (I'm sure the balence folk could guide me right here for which one.)

Definitely a minor. Non-special languages are minor and learning languages is way more difficult than learning a stream

Just started playing back in June.

The alienist (from Complete Arcane) is something I've always wanted to play. I love the character concept of complete descent into madness/attuning to the old gods.

In Arelith, the star pact warlock is probably close enough to the concept. (but since we were asked about 5% dreams...)
Actually I feel star pact need some remake, it is a bit odd (that is my favorite pact), the spells and epic pact bonus do not feel like a star pact at the moment

Alienist, plus another staring area would be nice, for all the odd ones XD

Any variation of partially or fully golem-like or mechanical person.
Something like a Warforged but that isn't a Warforged because we're not in Eberron!

Bloodline to non-standard race, this is worth a 5% Or greater. People may want to play a fire genasi wood elf or something? Can add application for that.

Master Locksmith, innately open all dungeon doors, magic or other wise. Still need open lock for locked chests or quarters. (Coming from someone who get so frustrated over locked places in dungeon and there’s no key to find)

Gift of exploration (can be a minor), so map reveal without needing 12 ranger /lm etc.

5% Dreams oooh time to go wild.

Turn in the 5% for a special item on char creation. A stone, pendant,... to teleport you to your own pocket house!
You can design modify this house with some limitations. Upgrades and upkeep does not just cost gold but spell components depending on the quality (bigger chest = mucho pay for it)
Teleporting to your house leaves a lingering magical trace.

People with the right skills or special items can collect these traces to learn how to warp to your pocket house they'd still need to get past the doors and stuff.

Gith, because they are the best, both Zerai and Yanki.

But outside of that...
The Crinti.

https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Crinti

The Crinti were the result of "What if the Drow win" and took over part of the surface world, and were mixed Elf/Drow/Humans who ruled over the conquered territory. Looked down upon in the underdark, they still saw themselves as masters of the surface, and had a pretty unique prestige class the Crinti Shadow Marauders: https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki ... w_marauder

They were basically mounted shadow dancers.

I could see them mechanically as a variation on drow or half-elves who get bonuses to ride.

This one would be a bit against the norm I think because it would technically be applying an award towards an existing character. But, I'd happily spend a 5%, and the subsequent award roll whatever it might be, to turn a character I choose to roll into a server npc similar to some past npcs based on player characters.

This is a very wierd one. I THINK it's something that has been done, and you can still technically be done now, but it's a bit outside my remit and more up to Irongron.

I like the idea? But whether it happens or not should really be up Irongron as an area dev. I'll be honest, this is one of thsoe where I'm not entirely certain of the status of.

5% to roll a cavalier with a pegasus or winged nightmare mount. Allows you 3/rest to dimension door to a nearby location when mounted upon it and out of doors/large underdark cavern. Or heck while I'm at it just an array of 'unusual' mount models such as big cats, bears, wolves, etc. Keep it rare and special but still something interesting to see.

1) Centaur

2) Were-creature that isn't just a werewolf and can shift at will and retain PC control, but also shifts as per lycanthropy and loses PC control. Would be non-curable and spread the curse as per lycanthropy, remaining curable for any other inflicted PCs, but with a reskin to whatever the base were-creature is.

3) A possessed existing race. It would function exactly like number 2 above, except you could be possesed by a ghost, or demon, or devil, or whatever is appropriate and wouldn't be contagious.

4) Azer

I'll think out some ideas a bit more and why I think they could be considered:

1) Centaur https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki ... ?so=search
+ Would make a nice fit for cavalier
+ Flexible for all sorts of RP, not stereotyped, good or evil
+ Fits well with the wilderness theme of much of the surface

2) Were-creature that isn't just a werewolf and can shift at will and retain PC control, but also shifts as per lycanthropy and loses PC control. Would be non-curable and spread the curse as per lycanthropy, remaining curable for any other inflicted PCs, but with a reskin to whatever the base were-creature is.
+ Gives a 5% option without making Arelith look like a zoo

3) A possessed existing race. It would function exactly like number 2 above, except you could be possesed by a ghost, or demon, or devil, or whatever is appropriate and wouldn't be contagious.
+ Gives a 5% option without making Arelith look like a zoo

4) Azer https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Azer
+ Flexible for all sorts of RP, good or evil
+ Gives Brogendenstein some 5% love

5) Arctic dwarf https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Arctic_dwarf
+ Gives a non-evil or non-monstrous 5% option
+ Presumably easy to introduce, probably just tweaks to the Wild Dwarf template
+ Fits with the large cold wilderness areas of the surface and Skal in particular
+ Gives Brogendenstein some 5% love
[Edit: actually thinking about it, would the DM team consider Wild Dwarf and Arctic Dwarf similar enough that it's permissible to play a Wild Dwarf as an Arctic Dwarf if you take the gift of hardiness?]

6) Bralani https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Bralani
+ Gives a non-evil or non-monstrous 5% option
+ Gives a 5% option without making Arelith look like a zoo
+ Gives Myon some 5% love

7) Celadrin https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Celadrin
+ Gives a non-evil or non-monstrous 5% option
+ Gives a 5% option without making Arelith look like a zoo
+ Gives Myon some 5% love

8) Abbalaya https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Abbalaya
+ Gives a non-evil or non-monstrous 5% option
+ Gives a 5% option without making Arelith look like a zoo
+ Gives humans an interesting option
+ Subtle, maybe give them Divination foci, DC bonuses or innate spell casting

9) Sahuagin https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Sahuagin
+ A good fit for Sencliff pirate RP
+ Gives Sencliff some 5% love
+ Introduces a fun source of conflict and balance for the many Sea Elves

10) Selkie https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Selkie
+ Gives a non-evil or non-monstrous 5% option
+ Gives a 5% option without making Arelith look like a zoo
+ A good fit for Sencliff pirate RP
+ Gives Sencliff some 5% love
+ Gives 5% options to those who want to play non-evil sailors

11) Sirine https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Sirine
+ Gives a non-evil or non-monstrous 5% option
+ Gives a 5% option without making Arelith look like a zoo
+ A good fit for Sencliff pirate RP
+ Gives Sencliff some 5% love
+ Gives 5% options to those who want to play non-evil sailors

12) Tabaxi https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Tabaxi
+ Everyone wants to play a cat
+ Flexible for all sorts of RP, not stereotyped, good or evil
- We all know that for every seriously played Tabaxi there will be another kawaii catgirl or furry

13) Dryad https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Dryad
+ Gives a non-evil or non-monstrous 5% option
+ Fits well with the wilderness theme of much of the surface

14) Half-dragon https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Half-dragon
+ I think you already have a model available with the dragonkin monsters in the Deep Wells
+ Flexible for all sorts of RP, not stereotyped, good or evil
+ Could be Surface or UD

15) Nymph https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Nymph
+ Gives a non-evil or non-monstrous 5% option
+ Fits well with the wilderness theme of much of the surface

With all the giant stuff we have in game now I'd love seeing some playable trolls. There are already trolls NPCs in Anduor!
This would be pretty cool. Though I'd wish for an updated troll character model first. The Arelith ones are a bit wonky looking. Just wouldn't look right holding weapons.

Mutation
Template; can be added to any base race (similar to Aasimar/Tiefling/Genasi)

Hideously deformed, these creatures have been shunned by surfacers and forced to live either outside of civilisation, or in the Underdark.

Depending on the form their mutations take however, they may still have a purpose in life...

Upon selecting this award, you choose a bloodline. Depending on the level of award you cash in to access it, different levels of mutation may be available to you. Great power can come at great cost... are you willing to live with such a thing?

Functions as outcast, but with a visible deformity that is extremely off-putting to NPCs. The greater the tier of award you choose, the greater your deformity, and it is expected you'll RP it and have it in your description.

ALL TIERS: -5 Appraise, -5 Leadership, -5 Bluff, +5 Intimidate

Minor: small deformity (cha and dex or str penalty, with a boost to either str or dex (whichever doesn't have the penalty))
Moderate: As above, but if you choose str boost you also get a size boots, or if you choose dex boost you get a size decrease
Greater: As above, but str boost also gives natural armor as well, or dex boost also gives a movement speed boost (both scale with level)
Major: As above, but regardless of which you choose you get wings.

5% award idea:

You are able to apply some set of awards to an existing character rather than having to make a new character.

Aspiring Crime Lord Background:
You start as a Dread Pirate on Sencliff but can vote in elections and run for office in any settlement. However, bankers in these places still won't allow you to use citizen storage because you've had a hand in robbing too many of them, smugglers refuse to work with you because they're never entirely sure whose side you're on, and you're barred from owning leases anywhere but Sencliff and neutral territories. Unlike other pirates you're even barred from owning leases in the Freeport. The only exception to your leasing restrictions is that if you win an election you're allowed to own the District House/Chancellor Building. Cannot be a race with access to UD restricted portals like the hub. Can't be enslaved because the clampers think you're too greasy to keep from breaking free.
