Toon ungeared AC

Can someone help me out figuring my toon base AC?
He is 10 fighter / 4 bard / 16 dwarven defender
30 tumble plus epic skill focus tumble (+10) to a total of 40
armor skin (+2)
8 dex (-1)
without any gear he currently has 17 AC
my simple math skills tells me that
AC = 2 AC (armor skin) + 8 AC (tumble) -1 AC (dex) + 10 base AC
this would be 19 AC , instead the character sheet shows only 17 AC
Can anyone shed some light on this?

Only hard ranks (ranks you put during level up) in Tumble for AC. Which means the highest Tumble AC you can get at level 30 is 6 AC (30 Tumble). ESF: Tumble do not count towards giving AC. Unfortunately, ESF: Tumble is a wasted epic feat.

Another question, does Defensive Stance Dodge AC stacks with tumble AC?

Yes. Dodge AC is only capped by its total. The cap for the total is 20. Tumble is not factored into Dodge AC either, luckily.
Realistically that build you have (assuming you use a shield) should reach 51 AC fully geared and warded with Iron Stance on but no Expertise or Haste.

I apologize. It is actually 52. You have access to UMD for Barkskin wands. You can skip Adamantine Helm for 4 deflection AC by using a Shield pot, but I hate how short they are. I frankly would have an Adamantine Helm for PvE content then pop a Shield pot for PvP.

1 FIGHTER ARMOR AC @ LV 5
1 FIGHTER SHIELD AC @ LV 10

8 FULL PLATE
4 ARMOR AC
2 ARMOR SKIN
4 IRON STANCE
With a decent build, it's on the scale between moderate and kinda good for PvE content. Definitely requires Mounting Resistance.
