Finding my way back in to NWN
I last played NWN of any stripe at least 15 years ago, stopping when real life got in the way. Recently bought NWN:EE from BeamDog, and am trying to retrain the muscle memory, to be an effective player.
NWN attracted me when it first came out, as it very much reminded me of my paper D&D adventures in the early '80s).
I stumbled across a reference to Arelith, looked through the website, and now I'm here <grin>.
Looking forward to meeting people, and improving my roleplay skills.

Welcome to the madhouse!

Welcome aboard! You'll generally find folk willing and wanting to help with things you're unsure of as there's a lot of arelith specific things that take some learning and getting used to. So don't be afraid to ask questions and make mistakes.
Have fun!

Welcome to the Thund- Er, Server!
Big tip for you, if you look on portal.arelith.com, you'll see a couple of icons beside people's names. One is a little DM badge, and the other is a question mark, like this:
People with that tag are open to being asked questions by people new to the server, game, or even veterans who can't quite remember what form Dragon PCs have True Sight in. I play Angela Amana, and feel free to always ask any questions, or even just say Hi.

Alia: The uncanny knack of Angela Amana to make the otherwise perpetually well-mannered girl lose her temper and be HORRIBLY ASHAMED afterwards.

Welcome to the fun! Arelith can be overwhelming at first, so take it slow and enjoy the fun. Make your first few PCs throw aways is my advice so you can get a feel for things.

I want to echo and expand on what Edens_Fall said.
This game is HUGE. the world his huge and the mechanics behind it's scenes are quite worlds away from vanilla nwn at this point. The biggest advice I could give is to not worry about stuff you dont know too much and try to role with one character for a while even if the build is random and full of suboptimal choices. You can always make another one but sticking to one character up to high levels can speed up your learning of the world and mechanics. Playing a class without multiclassing is more rewarding here than in vanilla nwn too so it's more beginner friendly.
Welcome! and have fun!

thanks all, for the welcome and tips!
From what little I've seen so far, looks like a lot of fun.
