Dear Arelith,

Post by Glowing Mushroom » Tue Nov 09, 2021 3:24 am

Unfortunately I've rolled Burin far ahead of my intended schedule. Arelith and all of you have been a huge part of my life for the past three years.

Thank you for everything.

I'm inclined to agree, I'm curious of the context though.

You're the best mushroom I've ever known. Very shroomy. 11/10.

On a more serious note, Burin was the first person to welcome Myzz in when she came from Skal to Arelith proper. He welcomed this awkward/worrying elven wizard into the Grove as part of the family without hesitation, and made her truly feel like she had a place she belonged. Her journey could have gone considerably differently were it not for Burin's kindness.

I disbelieve, this is just a kudos post, I don't think Burin's going anywhere?

OMG, I just saw Mushroom's edit. IDK what to say, Burin is/was one of the most established characters on Arelith and he has become part of the setting moreso than anyone else to my knowledge.

I suppose even 1000yo dwarfs get to have a character exit. Hail Burin the Earthly!

May Burin the Earthly be eternal, just like his picture will be, best druid to play with, he will never be forgotten

And Kudos to the player for being incredibly inclusive with everyone and everything

And like Burin would say: "I wish you well"

Burin was fantastic.

Going to seriously miss him and the interactions I got with the old dwarf.

The loading screen for the Grove truly has immortalised him
Howling around all year long

Burin was wonderful to roleplay with on Adilshahsa; it was great to watch him grow from the long bearded druid into the archdruid of archdruids. Unfortunately I don't have any screenshots of the time, but I keenly remember the first event of yours that I attended - Burin with his super raven ritual when you learned EDK.

I'm glad we got to RP together, and I'm glad we were able to convince you to step up to Archdruid of the Heartwood so that we could watch you be a shining star there!

Kudos, and hope to see what you play next!

I don't think I ever got to interact with Burin in character and we didn't speak often OOC but it should be apparent to everyone in this community how much of an impact you've had on a sizeable portion of the playerbase, direct or indirect. I can tell even as an 'outsider' to the circles you interacted with that you brought a lot to the table and enriched the experience of many.

Burin the Earthly, I still remember my character meeting him in a completely unexpected way. Sad to see the character go, but it was a great run.

Good fortune in whatever it is that comes next.
Biz here was a constant subliminal hum, and death the accepted punishment for laziness, carelessness, lack of grace, the failure to heed the demands of an intricate protocol.

Burin was an amazing character. It was great to see such an in depth, immersive character played by a player passionate enough to put so much time and effort into making Arelith better and more fun for everyone.

Jarila will always cherish her memories with Burin.

This is the way.

Burin was a great friend to all those he met. He was also a great leader and teacher to the new druids, rangers and other folks that came to meet him and join him in the heartwood grove.

I know he had a major impact on me not long after us even really meeting IC and continues to affect my playstyle to this day.

He will be missed, and I look forward to seeing your creativity flourish however it chooses to do so next.

Too many fond memories to list them all... But my favorite was probably issuing Burin a writ allowing him to bathe in Cordor's fountains. In many ways, he taught Khal to embrace his own inner goofball.

I've run into Burin on multiple different characters on different sides. He put an extra oomph into RP and was a staple among the druids. Sad to hear he's gone.
