Thanks, sorry and goodbye

Post by If Only » Tue Apr 18, 2023 2:07 pm

Hello,

This is kind of a difficult post to make. I've been around Arelith on and off for about two thirds of my life and the roleplay and some of the people I met were important parts of my life. Generally, I have the tendency to just vanish at some point, but this time it feels different. My life has been turned upside down and I have to prioritise RL matters to the point that I can't justify playing at all. Since it looks like it's going to be a while, I don't know if I'll be back. But who knows.

So today, I'm offically signing off for the first time in my Arelith history.
Thank you for the many memories and the stories I got to be a part of.
Sorry for leaving people hanging around Viveka, Guldorand and all that, it's certainly not what I had planned.
And goodbye to you all! Be kind to yourselves and each other.

All the best,

Wordless Truth / Words Of Sorrow
In A Motionless Scene
Revelations
Surrender The Throne
If Only

And a good few others

Ex animo.

Was fun to RP with you! Sorry to hear about RL. I've got diminished capacity due to it myself lately, so totally understandable. Good luck with your endeavors. <3

Real life always has and always should take the priority.

That said, I am sad to see you go! Having been both on the same side with plenty of important encounters for Aldros and on opposing sides with you on Viveka, I hope to see you around again at some point! Game has a way with drawing people back in. But most importantly, I hope you'll be well outside of it!

Active Character: Aldros Rivorndir

Very sorry to hear this news. I really enjoyed playing with you back in the early days of house Blackstone and I appreciate that you set up quite a few fun things that I'm sorry will not be resolved any time in the near future!

I hope that when circumstances allow, we can play together again sometime. But until then, I wish you all the best! Take care!

I hope real life goes well for you! Thank you for inviting my chaotic character to be city magistrate, it was an unexpected turn for him and was fun.

It's always displeasing when Irl issues force someone to give up. Wish you the best for your troubles!

Our real life comes before anything else! I'm sure you'll handle it very well.

Thank you for all the learning and RP provided during the time I've been in Guldorand. It's have been a pleasant experience.

Viveka has positively written her name in the city's history, and I'm sure there's still much more for her when she returns!

Thanks again and I wish you the best!

While its always sad to hear, it is understandable.

I always sincerely and genuinely appreciated the great, if few, times to RP with viveka away from politics, and the way in which you could convey complexity without an excess of words.

Here's to hoping you can return some day even if on another character

It's a real sorrow to see your lost, you're a brilliant rp and a credit to the community. You'll be greatly missed. I hope RL treats you kindly and perhaps one day we see you around again ,but if not know you go with all our best wishes.

This too shall pass.

(I now have a DM Discord (I hope) It's DM GrumpyCat#7185 but please keep in mind I'm very busy IRL so I can't promise how quick I'll get back to you.)

Long live the High Sheriff.

Angela will be there to hug her when you return.

Alia: The uncanny knack of Angela Amana to make the otherwise perpetually well-mannered girl lose her temper and be HORRIBLY ASHAMED afterwards.

I hope everything works out for you IRL.

You've been a huge influence on me. I don't think it's an accident that you can be found in the past/present of a lot of wonderful players, very often in a supporting role. I remember, over ten years ago now, trying and failing to keep a faction together that, while already dead, was incredibly important to me. One day this profoundly generous and serious roleplayer shows up and with full earnestness gives me/my character purpose again and the opportunity to be a leader. I never really got to repay you for that.

Why should the great bell of Beaulieu toll when the shadows were neither short nor long?

The porchlight will be on for you and all that jazz - you know the drill!

All the best on whichever path life has for you now. The community will be poorer (for now). Thanks for your presence!

Cheers!

Aww, man...

Take care of yourself, I hope things settle down in a positive way for you eventually. It's always a shame to see a great writer go, but I can never be sad about someone making the responsible choice for themselves and we all wish the best for you in whatever comes.

Viveka was a real work of art and a testament to what someone who's willing to lean into unexpected story beats can inspire. The kind of character that draws out the best from people around them just by virtue of being so well played. I look back on our interactions very fondly, and probably will for a long time.

I could go on all day but instead I'll just say good luck, thanks for the heart and soul you put into your RP, and we'll keep the lights on if you ever find yourself dropping back by. It was real.
