Arelith Secret Santa Art Trade - 2021 Edition
Posted: Wed Nov 17, 2021 9:54 pm
The return of a time-honored tradition! Started by Tomato in 2018, continued by Woodbreeze in 2019, delayed by COVID in 2020, and now it's BACK FOR ROUND THREE!!!
If there's one thing I love more than Arelith, it's the artists that Arelith inspires. Every time we've had a community secret santa, it's been a wonderful creative activity that has ended up improving artistic skill and creating friendships. We're starting a little later than we might have in past years, but I hope that this is still enough time for people to get into the spirit and join the fun.
For those of you who don't know how a Secret Santa works (I didn't until I joined the 2018 Secret Santa) - it's essentially a randomized art trade. You submit whatever character you would like to have drawn by someone else, and also volunteer to draw someone else's character. No one picks or chooses who or what they draw, which makes it a really unique and fun experience!
This secret santa art trade will be conducted anonymously, which means you won't know who's drawing your character, and the person whose character you're drawing won't know it's from you. The mystery adds to the excitement! Once your work is finished, I can have it delivered discreetly if you want to remain anonymous, or you can feel free to sign and post the art yourself if you prefer. Artists of all skill levels are encouraged to join - yes, even you so-called stick-figure artists! As for the medium, you can feel free to send an oil painting, a crayon drawing, a digital illustration, or anything in between!
The sign-up form for the art trade is in this link.
The sign-up deadline is December 1st.
The submissions deadline is December 21st.
Not as much time as in years past, but still hopefully enough for people to come up with something amazing to share. I'll be checking in with artists a week before the final deadline to make sure we're still on track to finish in time. And if anyone bails out on their gift, I'll pick up their slack!
If anyone has any questions, post it to this thread or PM them to me here on the forums or through Discord - @magistrasa#1303
Happy Holidays, and I'm looking forward to seeing what we come up with!
