Allwyn Marchers Song Book

Post by ManicMalcolm » Sun Nov 29, 2020 2:03 pm

*Allwyn Keeps his songs In a battered Note book full of loose pages *

The Red Dragon

Led by relentless bent to wander
Searching marvels which to ponder
Spying out rocky highland
landing on red dragon island

Horizon to horizon destruction spread
laid waste by fire full of dread
Streams once with verdance thrived
broken bloated corpses now do lie

Across blasted, burning moat,
To Cavern deep, retreat unsought,
Recoiling from foul breath stench,
On pommel do the fingers clench,

A roar shatters, rents and wrenches,
ripping gashes in the senses.
lips a'curling Nostrils flare,
eyes glow with hungers fire.

Ancient, red 'neath leather wings.
whispers promise of the death it brings
Teeth of ivory, finely honed
Sharpened on the scattered bones

Seeking searching scent of life,
piercing deepest gloom with clearest sight.
Fiery, mad, wicked, perverse.
Evil bringer unnatural force

With talons locked and greedy eyes
trying to seize defenseless prize,
pulling victims to its maw
sparkling teeth, slathering jaws.

Finding new courage terror assuaged
Rallying as music played
Facing down death with companions dear
Overcoming dragon fear

Playing tunes meant to tantalize
And then to slow and blind it's eye.
For this song did so detain
Dragon rage with its refrain

We fought as music lulled it's senses
Fought as music firmed our defenses,
this was the way the beast to conquer,
with music iron, steel, and magic conjured

Claws flailed reaching for destruction
Biting tearing mangling crushing
Fury rising to know no avail
Safe in the dance we did prevail

With sword arrow spell and song
Finally the beast was done
For the singing all had inspired
and the evil dragon had exiperd

With good cheer and many smiles
we sailed our way from those Isles
For dead lies that fiend within its cave
Insuring more than I be saved

Song For Cordor

Cordor what will you do when the winds bitter cold.
And your children are dying in the street
Do you turn blind eye
Will you walk on by
Past mothers of dead babies as the grieve and the weep
Oh Cordor, this is my song for you
Oh tell me Cordor what are you gonna do

Cordor what will you do if I tell you
You grind poor people into meat
If the truth be told I see lots of gold
But I still see people dying cos they cant afford to eat
Oh Cordor, you know what I say is true,
Oh tell me Cordor, what are you gonna do

Cordor make new plans to lend helping hands
Don't and it will be your utter ruin and defeat
I foresee a day when there's barricades,
And the blood of the innocence's will flow around your feet
Oh Cordor Do what ever you can do
Save yourself Cordor please don't let this song come true

The Word Of The Morning Lord

Strive always, working for a new hope
New growth, renewal and rebirth
Always be true in spirit and mind
These are the words of the morning lord

Don't look to the night as its fading
Watch the rising sun it brings a new dawn
A new day will always bring a new start
These are the words of the morning lord

Remember your words and deeds have meaning
Walk softly as you make you way in the world
Your least effort may bring the greatest reward
These are the words of the morning lord

Make Plans for a bright and happy future
Never let any doubts get in your way
Rules are not always for the true heart
These are the words of the morning lord

Fallen Defender

A mournful sky cries overhead
Soaking the streets of a life I once led
I am gone now ,all I am are my bones
Hidden beneath these funeral stones

Once I led a happy life here
Gone now, no more in my beloved Bendir
The Hawkins now with pride sing my name
They know how I died and they'd do the same

Accept the burden to defend this land
I sold my dearly at my final stand
If had more than but one life I'd lay it down again
For the Dales are my love and for it there is no blame

So mark you well this site where I now rest
Quell your sorrowful heart in beating breast
You may weep because I had to fall
Just remember it took my love for it to matter ever at all.

Be A Dreamer

How can we be free,
when freedom to dream,
s'not available.
Where dark-deeds, cold-steel, black-hearts,
always seem to prevail.
When suffering evil con-flict and violence,
stand in as the or-der of the-day.

That's just the way,
you will hear people say.
So stop dreaming.
It don't-change, won't-change can't-change,
so why bother to dream.
The heart that you wear on your sleeve will only start bleeding.
So don't waste your time anyway on a day-dream.

But I say to you,
Don't believe that it's true,
be a dreamer.
The long-night dark-night cold-night,
is gone with the new-day.
As a little sun-light can-start win-ter ice melting.
If you live your dream, dreams can drive darkness away.

THE FOOL

I am like the tarot card fool,
shoulder carrying, creative potential,
and all,
my talents in a knapsack.
flower in hand,
free from constraints,
without care.

Barking dog frolics by odd shod feet,
at the cliff edge,
maybe I’ll fall.
Having faith in the future,
for journeys unknown,
Bound for adventure,
outcome never told.

Shedding old habits,
create myself with new methods,
fearless of consequences,
forever the fool.

Searching out a kindred soul,
in life’s river go to with the flow,
tired of swimming solo.

River meets river
flows to the same ocean,
the best of life,
lying on the horizon.

The I, you, us, we,
are as invitation.
Tis this moment that counts
on quests of self-realisation.

Dreams should not live alone.

BLOOD ON THE STREETS

Blood on the streets, As your self-serving plans take their toll
When commoners are dying you seem to care nothing at all
Why is it so hard to see
When it's all quite clear to me
I see you lining your purses, you bluster and boast
It's all for great good really
But the one thing you-can be sure-of
More bloodshed tomorrow

You claim to fight evil, but to me that's not how it seems
Nothing ever changes but you still try to sell us your dreams
So why is final result
A child's body dead on the road
I can see your insincere sorrow
while you gloat as you count coins of gold
But you know you-can be sure-of
More bloodshed tomorrow

The battle is over but you have won nothing at all
while you bring your friends back, the common dead still walk the wall
You say you defeated a plot
But you don't want go for the win
There is no glory in not fighting war,
So you wait for the next plot to roll in
That is why I am sure-of
More bloodshed tomorrow

FIGHT

You've got to fight for what is right
For all that you believe
It's right to fight for what we want
To live the way we please

As long as we have done our best
Then no one can do more
For life and love and happiness
Are well worth dying for

And we should never count the cost
Or worry that we'll fall
It's better to have fought and lost
Than not have fought at all

Let's always take whatever comes
And never try to hide
Face everything and anyone
Together side by side

I Rise

You can write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
trying to stamp me to the dirt
Still,
like fire,
I rise.

Just like moon and sun,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes high springing
I Still,
like fire,
Arise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders fall like tea-er-drops,
Still,
like fire,
I'll rise.

You can stab me with your words
cut me with your eyes,
Try kill me with your hatefulness,
I shall,
like fire,
Still rise.

Does my truthfulness upset you?
should I be so despised?
I'll dance like light in diamonds
Forever
like fire
I rise

SONG FOR THE COMMON PEOPLE
Common folk of the isles, why should you bestow,
Such honour on lords who would keep thee so low?
Why do you weave with much toil and great care
All the rich cloaks your tyrants now wear?

Why do you clothe feed and all your days slave
from your humble cradles to early forgotten graves
For ungrateful despots who if they could
Drain all your sweat nay, dine on your blood?

Why should you, common folk, forge and devise
Sword chain, shield and arrow, but never own the prize
So the bloated leeches who for you do now make
Can turn them against you, if you don't keep your place

Have you leisure. comfort, do you know peace
Shelter, food, love, does your poverty decrease
Tell me what is it that you buy so dear
With your pain blood sweat heartache and with your fear?

The plants you do grow, another does now reap
The wealth you do make, another does now keep
The clothes you do weave, another does now wear
And the arms you forge, a warlord against you does bear.

Will you shrink to the sewers, holes, and your cells
Never having the comfort your oppressors know well
Never breaking the chains, never being really free
For the fear that, in the night they'll come and take thee

I say sow your own seed, and let no tyrant reap
create your own wealth and let no impostor heap
Yous should weave own cloaks not for the idle to wear
Forge sword chain, shield and arrow, in your own defense to bear.

Fallen from grace (The fallen Order)

Sit no longer on high pedestal
you once thought you were
No longer idols or instructor
Nor wanted as provider or protector

Betrayed by hubris that blinds you
brutality retribution oppression
Your words of respect and Duty
replaced by venomous false accusations

With malevolent resentment
in a game of political chess
Veiled in duplicity and lies
Your motives are all now suspect

THE BLACK DOG

I have a meeting with my dog
whispering of shadow on moonlight
seasons roll with his rustling shade
waiting, now I am unafraid
of soft mid-night black paws
For I have a meeting to keep with my dog
and timeless days with no need for applause

It may be he will under my hand
run with me to a sunlit land
liquid soft dark eye speak my epilogue
The sky so blue the air so still
I’ve a meeting to keep with my dog

On some green field or upland hill,
turn across again the seasons the year.
his joyous barking ever closer draws near

Mayhap ’twere better to be deep
Pillowed in silk and scented bed
Where love throbs out in blissful sleep,
Pulse nigh to pulse, and breath to Fog
Where hushed awakenings are dear…...

But I’ve a meeting to keep with my dog
On some green hill or Upland down,
I shall greet as friend with no fear
For I am Pledged to my word
And to my word I hold true
I’ve a meeting to keep with my dog
I shall not fail that rendezvous.

COUNTING COINS

They like to think themselves as heroes.
They are the Self-Serving type.
They like making war on ev-ery-one,
and count-ing coins at night.
They contemplate new battles
for what they claim is right
But when they start daydreaming,
minds turn to counting coins all night.

Sometimes when I look at them and see into their eye,
tis war they think, make-ing life worthwhile.
Their lips curve up, they can't disguise,
they think of counting gold-coins,
with-a-smile,

But tis so hard for them to know
which tis that they love more?
Counting coins by candle light?
Or being busy making war?

They use words like honour and glory
When they talk about their wars
They like to talk, about vic-tory and gain
But when they stop their talking,
in the silence of their own heads,
they go straight back,
to count-ing gold coins ag-ain.

Sometimes when I look at them and see into their eye,
tis war they think, make-ing life worthwhile.
Their lips curve up, they can't disguise,
they think of counting gold-coins,
with-a-smile,

But tis so hard for them to know
which tis that they love more?
Counting coins by candle light?
Or being busy making war?

It is The rich, the powerful
They like to think of as thier friends
but they are just the bankers/ in a war that never ends
They're not too fond of Peace
A ceasefire's what they hate
they love the thought of fighting wars
think-ing Oh, the mon-ey they shall make

Sometimes when I look at them and see into their eye,
tis war they think, make-ing life worthwhile.
Their lips curve up, they can't disguise,
they think of counting gold-coins,
with-a-smile,

But tis so hard for them to know
which tis that they love more?
Counting coins by candle light?
Or being busy making war?

SHUT THE SEWER GRATE

Shut the sewer grates, lad
There's blood inside
Blood from broken hands and feet
Blood that's dried beneath the streets
Blood from hearts that know no beat
Shut the sewer grates, lad
There's blood inside

Shut the sewer grates, lad
There's bones inside
Mangled, splintered piles of bones
Buried 'neath a mile of stones
Not a soul to hear the groans
Shut the sewer grates, lad
There's bones inside

Shut the sewer grates, lad
There's madmen inside
Madmen who's minds began to slide
Madmen in darkness terrified
Madmen the state has vilified
Shut the sewer grates, lad
There's madmen inside

Shut the sewer grates, lad
There's blood inside
There's bones inside
Madmen inside
So stay outside

WHO'll BE A HAWK'N

A Hawk'ns Defender came marching through the dales one day
Down to the south from the north country,
And he sang as he marched all along the the roads of Bendir dale ,
Who'll be Hawk'n and keep the dales free ?
Who'll be a Hawk'n?
Who'll be a Hawk'n?
Who'll be a Hawk'n and keep the dales free?
And he sang as he marched and he beat upon his signal drum,
Who'll be a Hawk'n and keep the dales free ?

Evil tries hard to win the isle of Areleth
so lets strike a blow at our old enemy.
And if you would be a Defender All in Green an silver uniform
Who'll take the oath of the Hawk'n and keep the dales free
take the oath of the Hawk'n.
take the oath of the Hawk'n
Who'll take the oath of the Hawk'n and keep the dales free .
And if you would be a Defender All in Green and silver uniform
take the oath of the Hawk'n and keep the dales free

"Not I,'' said the butcher "Nor I", said the baker.
Most of the rest did with them all agree.
To be paid with the blade and the stinging of the arrow fire
Wages for Hawk'ns Who keep the dales free.
Wages for Hawkins
Wages for Hawkins,
Wages for Hawk'ns Who keep the dales free.
To be paid with the blade and the singing of the arrow fire
Wages for Hawk'ns Who keep the dales free.

Now I said a youngling, know just what I should do.
A Hawk'n defender That is the role for me
for salvation I'll face danger, That'll be my destiny.
I'll be a Hawk'n defender and keep the dales free
A Hawk'n defender
A Hawk'n defender
Ill be a Hawk'n defender and keep the dales free?
for salvation I'll face danger, That'll be my destiny.
I'll be a Hawk'n defender and keep the dales free

Now twenty new recruits came marching back through Bendir dale
Off to fight evil and keep the dales free.
And they sang as they marched to the beating of the signal drum,
We are the Hawk'ns who keep the dales free
We are the Hawk'ns
We are the Hawk'ns
We are the Hawk'ns who keep the dales free?
And they sang as they marched to the beating of the signal drum,
We are the Hawk'ns who keep the dales free

GRIEF
When the bad tidings they do knock on the door
Pain and heartbreaks is all that abounds
When shattered heart screams and lamentingly roars
Harrowed bitter tears flow in those sounds

Such anguish such loss no one can explain
When cast adrift on the ocean of grief
Try as may want to deal with that pain
No way can be sought not a sign of solace or relief

What comfort is there for to be found
When drowning in torrents of tears
Standing in a quake tearing apart ground
For now have gone, those once held so dear

And though doing fine, thoughts around do race
The soul still cries out it's call
Just for a moment to see hear and touch face
To say one last time, I miss and still do love you all

IF I DIE

If I fall, then will I die
Standing proud with both eyes open
I may be gone, I may be dead
But I'd still remain unbroken

A thousand times
would I my life lay down
For all I love, this way of life
I will die bravely

If in dark where no one knows
all alone
Still I'd have no other save me

For this land to defend
I would give gladly up everything
so even when gone, I will still be here
If you listen
you will hear my spirit sing

SINGING OUT THE TRUTH

I am the truthful singer, they want see destroyed
my words they have upset them, they really are annoyed
For the songs I sing, seem to wound and sting
like a rotten broken tooth.
And the best yet,
I get death threats
just for singing out the truth

I will sing songs of injustice, all across the land
Poke my barbs at the corrupted, until they change their plan
For the songs I sing, seem to wound and sting
like a rotten broken tooth
Threaten violence
I wont be silenced
just for singing out the truth

Beat your drums 'gainst power drunk tyrants, do all that you can do
Sing with me in my defiance, Stand straight stand tall , stay true
For the songs we sing, will wound and sting
like a rotten broken tooth
We can all be free
live in liberty
Just by singing out the truth

THE CHILDREN OF MANNOR MOURNE

What be the children of Mannor Mourne?
Hypnotic eyes mesmerizing gaze
Creatures that thrive on blood for false life
Naught but hunters stalking prey

Where be the cots in which the babes do sleep?
Dank decayed with scent of blood
Tombs decrepit dark desecrated places
Where in mortals do fear to tread

What do they dream from daybreak to sunfall?
Of coming forth to ravage and feast.
Corrupted innocents, souls lost unto the darkness
Hunger for blood turning babes into beasts

Where forth shall their true rest come from.
ending curse'ed eternal half life?
Release it shall come by my own hand.
I bring death's mercy for children of the night

OUR LADY OF SILVER

Our lady of silver
Ageless ancient like the cycles of the moon
Ever changing moods and faces
Our lady of silver
Selune

Our lady of silver
In her many countless always different ways
Vivacious, joyous, majestic
Our lady of silver
Selune

Our lady of silver
Seeing all that happens by the light of moon
motherly, poetic and embracing
Our lady of silver
Selune

THE BOUNDLESS EXPLORER

Travelling a lonely road,
mandolin beside me,
a steep and winding pathway,
to the top of a hill.

My thoughts so bright so clear today,
I hope they last forever.
Warriors escort me to horizons,
I was always waiting for.

No matter where they lead me,
I am ready to be there
The rocky path is cold and grey,
blue sky turning dark.

But today I don’t stumble
I just climb up to the stars
my knowing mandolin plays
every story that I lived

I feel so free on this hill.
Wonder what the reason is?
Lightening strikes me,
but still I feel no wounds
I know this is my reckless dream,
but It wont ever let me go.
Soaring as fast as possible
to get me there before the dawn

The smoke is all around me
the road has left time far behind
The sky black and unseen
the air hot and dry

Waiting for rain drumming
On ground I can’t remember
All I know now somewhere else
journey to it's end will come

Despite the bloody weather
and the road so full of bones
getting closer to my goal,
not knowing what's ahead

I reach the top the hard way.
glance restfully behind the hill
To see a haunting thought of mine
in the middle of my head

I feel so free on this hill.
Wonder what the reason is?
Lightening strikes me,
but still I feel no wounds
I know this is my reckless dream,
but It wont ever let me go.
Soaring as fast as possible
to me get there before the dawn

WHEN WILL IT END

Power! Ambition! Corruption, control.
They know whats best. Just do as your told.
kowtow, bow down, on bend'd knee.
You may feel safe but you'll never be free.

Heartbreak! Misery! Grief and frustration,
Fearless men jump, and die for a nation,
and in the end ignoring all dangers,
streets all fill up with dead faceless strangers.

When will it end?
Now!
Why cant you see?
War and Suffering are like a disease.
Lets make an end.
Now!
We can be free.
Free from the fear to live as we please.

Freedom from despots, your liberties.
Price they want paying, for your security
With chains of fear they make you behave.
They don't use collars but your still a slave

Confusion! Turmoil! Evil and greed.
Are the things that we all don't need.
Following a path of hateful violence.
All of this has me questioning your silence.

When will it end?
Now!
when will you see?
War and Suffering are like a disease.
Lets make an end.
Now!
We should be free.
Free from the fear to live as we please.

((OOC Before I get any complaints, this is not in any way having a go at the Players It's just Allwyn's view of the Gauntlet))

GAUNTLET'S FALLING

Gauntlet's falling in that faraway town
No war is declared no battles come down
Gauntlet's Falling, it's honor's no more
Arrogance and hypocrisy from their mouths now do pour
Gauntlet's falling, now don't look to us
Corrupted knights, souls tarnished with rust
Gauntlet's falling, their power they're losing
Except for the thugs and the swords that they're using

An ending is coming, downfall drawing in
collapse expected, the wheat's growing thin
Just another gang of murderers, but I have no fear
'Cause the Gauntlet is falling
and now?
they know the end's near

Gauntlet's falling, their time is done
Disgraced and dishonored, they stand alone
Gauntlet's falling, just a cult of death
Like a headless chicken doesn't know that it's dead
Gauntlet's falling, I'm just pointing out
the oath's that they have broken, that they lie about
Gauntlet's falling, full of bad guys
it's not one rotten apple, the barrels piled high

An ending is coming, downfall drawing in
collapse expected, the wheat is growing thin
Just another gang of murderers, but I have no fear
'Cause the Gauntlet is falling
and now?
they know the end's near
