The hooded figure arrives in his home and sits in his couch confortably. He grabs a bottle of bumbo and drinks it happily. He is confidant gold will not come from the tavern...meaning bloodshed will come soon. He savours the bumbo and sends words to call the saviours to deliver the target.

A shaded person goes to the tavern the day after. He looks at the board and discreetly copies the replies he needs to a piece of paper. Then he goes to the arcane tower and teleports.

Hours later he enters a big house, the door was already open, he was being expected. On the couch an armored man, with an aura of power surrounding his full plate is savouring a bumbo.

Saviour: "Welcome...I was expecting you. What word do you bring me from that tavern?"

The hooded men smiles and reads the document as it was written in the boards.

As he listens, the saviour cant hide a smile from his face.

Saviour: "So he thinks we are idiots...that is good. Fool is warrior who underestimate his foes. You may be questioning why we didn't leave options for him to pay...don't you?"

The hooded man simply nods

Saviour: "Simple...I already expected Nathaniel's answers to be that he would not pay anyway. The letter was not for him...were it for him....i would place it somewhere he...and only he...could read."

The hooded man replies: "So why did you leave the post in the boards?"

Saviour: "Because I want people to understand what we will do next..."

A long day of hunting and the saviours return to safety with their prey collected. A powerful vampire...defenseless under the influence of an arcane enchantment.

Image

The vampire is then prepared for travel....a robe is placed over her to cover her true nature. The wizard travels to the tavern at night and enters without suspicious. He makes the vampire walk to the center of the tavern and releases her of her enchantment.

Image

The wizard then turns a lens and disapears in the middle of the chaos and bloodshed left in the tavern. Meanwhile the warrior is finishing his bumbo and thinking. " How cheap is a human life? Nathaniel dont think 5000 coins is worth the lives of his customers it seems..."

Title: Preparations

The saviours are gathered. After some hours of drinking and discussion, they have found a conclusion they could all agree.

The plan was made. Everyone knew what had to do. Now preparations had to be made to make people understand the hard way the saviours were here to stay.

The bishop is sitted in a big desk full of papers and maps of the region of Minmir. He looks at his hands, full of ink of many writings and plans. In front of him a chess board and several pieces, as well as papers with the names and nicknames of each of the current members of his group. Started with two, now we are five strong and growing.

He grabs the first piece of paper with the name of the Wizard. He considers the tactics as he watches his attributes. A skilled user of the shadow weave. His ability in control of the undead is matched only by Zeyn himself. Also a mage capable to kill at distance and bring chaos to the battlefield with his spells. The bishop puts his paper to the side and places a Queen in the chess board in front of him.

The second paper shows the Count. A strong demonist equally capable to hide. Not the most defensive type but cabable to keep arcanists busy. A bloodthisty man but capable to listen and to reason with. He is strategic and have potention if trained properly. A knight is placed in the chessboard.

The paper for the Warrior is grabbed. A Strong man capable to deal real damage in combat. He also was the one who best survived the several trainings. He is also a reasonable man, seems to be in the group more for the gold than for the kills. A Hook is placed on the board.

The last addition to the group makes the bishop chuckles. The PIG. Still weak in power has much potential to grow and probably will be formidable on dealing damage to his enemies. But he is also a bloodthirsty killer and probably unreliable. The bishop imagines the Pig ignoring all commands and rushing to the battlefield killing all in his way. He places a pawn in the chessboard. "You have to be trained first Pig...but you will be a great asset."

Then the bishop places a bishop on the board. No king this far. This group may never have a king. Its not in its nature.

He looks at the map where a tavern lies. The target is there but training must be made in order to do obtain perfection. He gets the map and moves to the shrine where a head of a halfling lies in the ground making the entire temple smell rotten. Those were the hins that didnt pay the tribute for savior protection and paid with their lives. The smell of rot didnt bother bishop, the temple already had taints of blood of many sessions of training. The bishop gets close to the shrine and puts the map over it and prays. Prays for guidance on how to spread chaos to the world. Pray in thanks for the group that was formed and prays for its increase. And prays that the plans will be sucessful and that tavern burning gives arelith the right message. And as the bishop prays the map lits into fire. A message that he is in the right path.

As the Bishop approached the docks there was a commotion. A great discussion on what to do. One of the saviors has been attacked in Sencliff, disrespected in our own territory and people were asking for guidance on what to do.

The Wizard asked if he knew about the attacker's kin.
Bishop: "I think he might have an egg or two somewhere...after all I think dragons lay eggs. Dont know much of their biology."
Wizard: "I heard he has a human offspring...you know her name for us to scry?"
Bishop: "I really really doubt a big dragon can have a human child. Either the woman would suffer intense damage on the process of mating...or pehaps that particular dragon has a....unproportionally small organ compared to his size...poor lad."

The crowd bursted into laughters and comments. That was on purpose, to lighten the discussion and allow fear to change into reason. The bishop knew how to deal with pirates.

Bishop: "But trully, my brother cursed his adoptive daughter sometimes so I do know her name...but why do you want to know about it?
Count:"The dragon came here to sencliff and has threatened us...treated me disrespectfully. We want to kidnap the girl"
Bishop: "Unless we know the exact location of the girl this plan is hard to execute...let me propose something else..That dragon is well known in that tavern he has close to the Trader`s route. We go to the traders route and we kill every single person we find. But we leave one to tell the tale of those kills. And the tale is: People is dieing because Nathaniel went to Sencliff. People is dieing because he angered the Saviors. They are dieing because of what he did." We kill..and we send the blame to him. We can have some fun and leave a message to the folks that the Saviors need to be respected."
Wizard:"And what of the girl?"
Bishop:"We start killing in his playground either she or the dragon himself may come. If we have the chance we kidnap the girl or kill the dragon himself"

The pirates agreed with the plan. The Bishop was happy as he saw not only Saviors but the entire sencliff agreeing on his plan, his leadership.

Soon 6 strong pirates arrived in the road. A human female with a bow was there going in direction to the arcane tower. The pirates quickly surrounded her, the thirst of blood visible in their eyes. Bishop knew would be hard to control them to leave witnesses to tell the story later on the chaos of the battlefield so he acted first.

"My dear....i am terribly sorry you are here right now. You see...the owner of the tavern of the arcane tower attacked the saviors in Sencliff...he did that in disrespect to us and in disregard to the people of Bendir. Now the people of Bendir needs to pay the cost for Nathaniel`s actions....we are killing all in our path...and you are the first one. Blame Nathaniel...because he is the cause of it."

The Bishop took out his blade and slashed the girl`s gut open. Then he went for the final blow but purposedly missed allowing the girl to use her last strength to force her way to the arcane tower. The pirates wanted to hunt, and end what had started but the bishop said

BIShop: Stop!!! Let her go...she has a message to deliver. We keep our way outside town...on the road. We kill all in our path. Lets make them know what happens when they disrespect the saviors!!!!

And so the killing spree started. Bloodthirsty pirates stopping every merchant found in the road and killing with no mercy. Leaving a path of blood behind. A path that would no doubt attract attention and witnesses of the carnage, people to tell the tale and spread the message on Arelith.

The message came to Nathaniel who organized a group to fight the pirates. A battle came to be in the road outside. A giant prismatic dragon appeared in the middle of the group of pirates and the cordorians charged confidant that they would be fighting on the side of the giant beast. An error. The dragon was only an illusion and the cordorians saw themselves trapped in the middle of a number of magical effects that disabled them. The pirates, trained to fight in such situation took advance and killed as many in the group as they could.

But the bishop knew the pirates could not win the fight. Soon Cordor would send reinforcements and the group would be overwhelmed. A victory would become a defeat so the call to retreat came. The message was sent the blood on the trade route was there and several witnesses saw what means to anger the saviors.

Back in Sencliff, the pirates went to the temple of war to celebrate the victory. Tempus was pleased with the bravury of the pirates, the shown of power and control in the battlefield. All was left to do was a speech.

Image

And with the confort the message was sent and that the pirates were happy with this victory (and wanting more) bishop drunk with his friends confortably while the good people of Bendir licked their wounds and buried their dead.

The bishop arrives in his temple. Its has been a long week. A long bloody week.

2 days ago he lead 5 saviors to the tavern of Whidershin edge. There he confronted and defeated the daughter of the owner, a powerful mage. His plans were to kidnap her. To gain her cooperation, as she was lying in the ground defeated, bishop ordered his saviors to get the throat of her friend sliced. She observed the blood covering the ground of the tavern, but the effect was contrary to expected, instead of cooperation, the young girl enraged and started threatning.

As the girl didn`t show any sings of reasoning, and words of reinforcements coming to the tavern arrived, Bishop had no option but to order retreat and to pass his blade deep into the girl`s stomach, leaving her to die a slow painful death.

They retreated to Sencliff and gathered together in the temple of war to discuss their actions when soldiers came, decided to have their revenge. The temple was protected by tempus himself, the door reinforced. Inside elementals and demons were holding the door shut while furniture were placed in front of it to protect those inside. Hours of tension came as those inside didn`t know if the temple would be breached or not. In the end, the soldiers went back home without their revenge....Tempus be praised as he was on our side.

One thing was clear...this should not continue. Tempus dont accept continuous battles. War must end and cant be going back and foward all the time. A choise must be given for it to end. That`s why bishop sent the next day a message to the tavern owner. A message to meet on Concourse Capanocious a neutral zone to talk.

Even though the meeting was in a neutral zone, the cunning tavern owner lured bishop to a discreet area along with his daughter. Bishop knew it was most likelly a trap but the message had to be sent. He waited patiently for them both to send him lies and complaints and menaces. That was expected but he was not there to discuss his reasons, but only to send the terms of peace.

"I am here only to send the terms of peace. Peace can be attained if you want it. You pay us 5000 coins for the protection of your tavern, and you will have no more deaths near it. No more destruction. No more inoscent lives lost. You will have the protection of the saviors and nobody will ever touch your tavern. Think how much the lives of your loved ones are worth before sending your answer."

And bishop disapeared. Were it a trap? Pehaps. But it does not metter....the message was sent.

The Bishop enters his temple exausted. His dark armor tainted with blood of the many battles he had that day. He quickly takes steps to garantee the most precious thing he acquired that day is secured. He leaves a vial of dragon blood he collected from the fight in DIS on his secure chest. The blood of a good dragon, hard to be obtained but it will be useful in a ritual he plans to perform.

The Bishop then goes back to the first floor, to a big room full of papers and maps and with the chess board where he placed several pieces. On the other side of the chess board he puts the king down. He grabs the map of the arcane tower, a map full of strategic notes writen into it. He risks an X over the tavern and closes the map. A smile is visible in the bishop`s face, the sweet smile of the victorious.

He then grabs a new map...a bigger one and opens up in the big table he has. An extended map of Arelith on which one can also see routes of trade in the seas and the distant village of Simbayad. On the new map he risks a circle over Simbayad, Bendir Dale and the distant village of Skal. He thinks of Skal with ternure, remembering the old times he passed there, the friends he had and lost.

He grabs from the chess board the knight and places it over Skal. He grabs the bishop and places over Bendir Dale....and the queen is placed in the desert. The chess board suddenly became bigger as the Saviors, increased in ranks, spread their influence. The tavern was only the begining...
