A Death in the Grove

Post by The Kriv » Mon Oct 26, 2015 2:25 am

*A notice appearing on several bulletin boards about the settlements around Arelith*

"Remains of a Dryad"
Carried to the Heartwood Grove by an ancient Treant of the Skull Crag Mountains, the remains of the last dryad of the Mountain Grove of the Skull Crags is now entombed within the Heartwood. The dryad's dying words were of the telling of two humans in red capes in the company of dwarves who slashed the trees of the mountain Grove, and the killing of her Dryad-sisters.

Her words were, "The power of the animal and of the plant are all but broken. The power of the stone remains, but not for long. Spread the word. Avenge our deaths."" -with these words spoken in the presence of the Archdruid and others of the Heartwood, just as she passed.

A small stone cairn marks the place of her passing within the Heartwood, that we may never forget.

Let all those who claim to walk the path of nature come to know the atrocity committed against the mountain, its Grove, and to nature itself. Let it be known by all that any tales of brutal attacks upon the Logging town of Guldorand, it's people and citizens, have been brought about by their own greed and poor stewardship of their mountain home.

It is Silvanus who teaches resort to violence and open confrontation only when pressured by time or hostile action. In the name of Meilikki we send word to her needles and any Shadoweirs to fight for the forests. For much effort was made to avert such action. Ignored by those who could have averted such loss, as the wrath of the natural world rears an ugly head in their direction, do not let their tales of innocence and self defense spin the truth into a tale of their woe.

This message, Written and Distributed by the Druids and Rangers of the Heartwood Grove.

May all who claim to defend the wilds, protect nature or preserve balance, come forth and stand with us. We who fight for the forest. We who stand to protect nature.

** The note has the mark of the Rangers of the Heartwood Shrine at the bottom. **
