Noticed some questions were raised about who is who and who does what recently. Hope this sticky thread will resolve that. I've used the forum messaging groups as links, since they are nicely dynamic and therefor will always show the current active people in the groups. Just click on them to see the names.

Active Admins (decisionmaking, responsible for creative content and server direction, managing projects, hiring/firing other staff):

Updated the above a bit for clarity, any issues you have with DM decisions should be taken to the Lead DM first.

I've retired. Concerns about DMs should be taken to the admin team until a new lead DM is chosen.

Hi all - while Irongron is away on holiday, I've volunteered to help out covering the lead DM role. So if you have any questions or concerns about anything DM related, let me know.

To pre-empt the obvious question, though, we won't be scheduling a DM recruitment round until Irongron is back, so I won't be able to answer that question yet

I'm very grateful to Mithreas for stepping in while I was away, and while the new Head DM was selected.

DM Innis will now be taking up that role.

Hey everyone,

The time has come for me to step back from my current role as Community Manager of Arelith. I've lost the motivation and time to keep doing it the way it should be done and that's not what Arelith deserves for this position in the team. Lucky for us all here, a "new" community manager has already been found in the person of LittleWeasel, who will take over my tasks, like handling cdkey/account issues/questions, major awards, other database related queries and also the server side of things. For those of you unaware, she was one of the persons that handled these things already when the server was owned by Mithreas, so you're in good hands.
I advice all of you who haven't gotten a response back from me in forum PMs to resend the message (s) to the Active Admins group, where she's now member of, so she can pick up where I left off.

It's been a total blast and honor being part of this community for all these years, firstly as a player, then a contributor/dev and finally an admin, and I have no intention of leaving it. I'll probably start my Arelith experience all over again, by just going in to play every now and then. See you all ingame!

Thank you - Dunshine - for having done what you did so amazingly. From what I have heard, I have a huge pair of shoes to (re)fill and know that you cannot be replaced! Hope you get to find lots and lots of play time now.

I'm glad to be back.

Community: Give me a little while to take care of hand-over things, ramp back up. My activity was very much focused pre-EE. There are many changes that I need to familiarize myself with, and many things I'm just plain old rusty after not having looked at a single line of code or database in over 3 years. So... bare with me, please

So with Little Weasel departing (after doing an excellent job just when we needed it), there are some changes afoot in the Arelith Team...

Spyre, is stepping back from the role of Head DM to take a position as Admin. He will be doing the Community Manager role, in addition to other admin duties.

Morderon is also becoming an admin. our 'Technical Lead' and will be in charge of the actual machines and ensuring Arelith actually...works.

While DM Atropos is being promoted to head DM.

DM Grumpycat has been promoted to one of our admins, and will take over Spyre's role as the Community Manager.

Please be mindful that she, like all of us, has a real life, and cannot be available 24/7 for player requests, in the respect Spyre really was alway an exception, and with his departure will no longer be the case.

To those that need reminding (some people have been asking again), Admins work as the next step above DMs and Head DM in the case of appeals or referrals, and also make the final decision on 5% requests (A second announcement on the subject of 5%s will be made shortly).

Grumpycat has a wealth of experience as a DM, and has always offfered mature insight on the forums. Treat her as you would wish to be treated.

Spyre is formally rejoining admin staff, with the title 'General Admin'.

In many respects he never stopped performing the role; going out of his way to address technical and creative issues, and follow up on the many emails we receive from players.

No other admin is departing, and thus brings the admin count to 3, plus myself.

Kalopsia has taken on the mantle of Art Director. This is a position alongside Anatida. Both will continue to be our custom content experts and we look forward to the new additions that they bring. Anatida will show them the ropes!

I've updated the original notice from Dunshine about the active crew.

We are excited to be able to announce that Hoodoo has accepted a position within the Arelith Administration as a General Admin. Over the time that Hoodoo has been a member of the team he has been a strong asset in both development and supporting the playerbase. He has created some amazing projects and has created multiple web tools for players and the staff to utilize. He has been doing this all already and never officially had the position, but we are glad to welcome him. Hopefully he doesn't get scared off.

Aniel has joined the top tier of Arelith staff, as our latest admin.

In addition to all other admin level decisions and responsibilities she will be in charge of all class related changes and additions, which will now require her personal approval in order to proceed.

A great developer, with a strong history on Arelith, I wish her all the best in her new role.

After doing so much fantastic work for us, not least of which spearheading the addition of HAKs, Anatida is stepping down as Art Director on Arelith, and will be replaced by DM Starfish.
