Several area updates:

  • Leaving Skal doesn't automatically drop you off in Guldorand anymore. Instead, you are brought to Captain Thorvald's longship, and you get to choose where you want to go. Currently, the options are Cordor, Guldorand, Sibayad, and Westcliff. Brogendenstein will be be added after the settlement overhaul.

    • When you decide on a destination, your level 19 cap will be removed. Thanks, Sincra.
  • Updated the looks of Paush's dungeon in the Abyss. Go take a look and bring your friends!

  • Added two nature-themed huts in the Jotunhold cavern for Half-Giants and Firbolgs.

    • These quarters, like all Giant-only quarters, are not linked to the guildhouse inside the fortress.
  • The peddler in the Hawk's Nest Inn will buy your potions, grenades, and other miscellaneous items now.

  • The Chapel quarter in Guldorand can now only be purchased by Clerics and Favored Souls.

    • This change does not affect the current owner.
  • Added a gem scale to the High Elven Hall.

  • Lots of small fixes and tweaks.

    • Maybe even a secret thing or two!

Update on torches and lanterns:

Things are always more complex than what they initially seem. As such, I am going to have to carry out a lot of testing before these new items go live. The ETA has been pushed back another few weeks.

NUI Fixture Adjustment Window

  • Using -move_fixture or -rotate_fixture commands without any parameters will now show up an NUI window to easily move/rotate fixtures around using an interface.

PSA: All fixture movements are done based on your character's current facing. No longer mixing up X/Y values while moving fixtures!

Spell Components and Pouches:

  • Arcane spell casters who can cast 7th circle spells and above will now restore charges to their pouch when resting.
  • This scales at 1 per 9 levels, so a 27/3 will restore 3 charges per rest.
  • This will ONLY restore charges to the pouch that the component system tries to expend from first.

Pouches and Spell Component Toggle:

  • When this stops you casting due to saving the pouch from destruction it will now restore the spell.

From Twohand, Anatida, and Sincra

Following the ownership update of the Guldorand Chapel, all player temples in the module have been standardized. In addition to Clerics, they can now also be owned by Favored Souls, Harper Priests, Zhentarim Fear Speakers, and characters with the Gift of Devotion.

  • Full list of properties affected by this update:

  • Cordor - Norquar Street and Praetorian Court temples.

  • Guldorand - The Chapel, the Elven Quarter temple, and the Clergy House.

  • Surface - Bendir Burrowhome temple (a deity can be now properly assigned with this update).

  • Underdark - The temples in the Devil's Table, Greyport, and the Sharps.

The main Druid-only quarter in the Heartwood Grove, while having temple mechanics such as altar consecration and a deity servant NPC, is not considered a player temple for the purpose of this update.

A few Bendir Dale updates, mostly focused on the village's defenses.

  • Defensive Burrow:

  • The area is now warded from all means of teleportation.

  • Blocked the ladder to the Barracks with a quarter door.

  • If prisoners escape from the jail cell, they can now find a way to leave the area without running into quarter doors everywhere.

  • Added a bell near the gate lever. Characters in the Burrow and in the Barracks will hear it when rung.

  • Earthkin Village:

  • The old gong located at one of the Defense Points can now be played to alert all characters within the village area, as well as those inside the Defensive Burrow and the Barracks.

  • Characters can climb down from the Defense Points; no need to go back into the Burrow.

  • Added a way to sneak into the Defensive Burrow.

  • Fixed the Altar of the Green Sister, you can interact with it now.

  • Fixed an issue with an NPC guard teleporting away, leaving the outside farm undefended. His new fire bolts should help deal with the eventual troll coming from the Skull Crags foothills.

  • Hawkin Barracks

  • Fixed the statue of Francisca Highhill; you can't kill it anymore.

  • Skill Focus: Craft Mastery has been fixed to grant the correct amount of 5 CP instead of 3 (post Skill Focus change).
  • Blood Homunculus duration now takes into account Blood Stacks.
  • Some Lightly Armored (Rogue perk) fixes to ensure the bonuses are applying and removing themselves at the correct times, such as ability score buffs, unequip/equip, server login, etc.
  • Non-diviners can no longer see whether illusions are at play when an illusionist uses -cheat.

  • Playground marked as interior so that light-sensitive races no longer have permanent debuffs.
  • Warlock path NPCs removed as its redundant
  • Playground exit modified to prevent hostile NPC being drawn back. This functions like the arena does and requires you to click the exit portal.

Gold and Fixture Pinata:

  • PvE God saves will stop fixtures dropping in the same way as it will stop gold dropping.
  • Dying and Death gold drops better distinguished. Gold you drop on death if you return to a location should now not be visible, as was intended.
  • Dying state remains unchanged, fixtures and gold will still drop, gold will remain visible.

Definition Note:
Death - Dropping to below -10 health and moving to the fugue.
Dying - Dropping below 1 hp and above -10, it ticks damage and cause start healing.

Patch .35 Release

  • While a stable version of .35 has been released, the servers have not been updated to that version and will not be updated until later in the week or next week.
    • If you are playing on .35 and are having texture issues, please go to your options, search PLT and disable the shader option there.
    • If you are still having texture issues, please ensure your graphic driver is up to date.

Desync Debugging

  • The server has had desync issues that players have encountered for awhile. However, when this does occur, and you generate a .dmp file as a result, please do send it to myself and let us know. We will work with crews to attempt to isolate why desyncs occur and maybe introduce a fix.

Art and Commissions

We have noticed an increase in commission related postings appearing in the art channel on the Main Discord. As our Discord is a community and anyone can join it, we will potentially see legitimate artists joining. However, in light of all this, there are potential commission scams and marketing ploys using AI generated art to take money from you.

Arelith will allow you to advertise drawings with fellow players - we encourage you to draw up memorable RP and inspired drawings in our art channel. However, if you are looking to advertise your business and seek commissions, please seek approval from myself before posting. We do want to encourage people and their art; however, we also want to have a verification process and conversation with the artist to avoid scams. Our goal is to protect your finances. But it is also to encourage your many talents. So please, if you want to list your work and a link to your commissions, seek me out. Anyone bypassing it will have their post deleted and will be warned.

Art and Commissions Part II

To address the earlier announcement, we will be setting up a verification process that will circulate through myself (though it may expand to other members of the staff to assist) which will verify status and intention. This will alleviate any concerns of bots entering the channels. Once verified, the user will be granted a new role: @Verified Artist which will grant them permissions to send messages in ⁠🔗-artist-connections to enable them to post a bit about their work, showcase some pieces as advertisement for said work, and to direct people to a way to commission from them.

Please note the following restrictions on posting about your work:

1) Nudity is not permitted to be showcased. You are not forbidden from the work; however, it must still align with the Discord / Server rating.
2) Make sure to have some pieces readily available online to showcase so people can actively see.

The ⁠🎨-art channel will still continue to serve as a hub for players to showcase work they have done themselves, had commissioned for them and to discuss as it always has been. We will be actively pruning the channel of messages related to advertising of commissions in there.

Art is an expressive form with many different avenues to showcase it. We wish to continue to promote this and to not have bots / scams detract from all your hard work. I personally love looking over the art channel and seeing all your talent (and getting extremely jealous).

  • It is now possible to assign two equipable items into one slot. Just click to [Assign Item] button and select the slot with existing item then select the item in your inventory that you want to assign. This allows to assign two weapons into one slot (for purpose of dual-wielding) or one weapon one shield.

  • New Raw Gems will go into mining bags.
  • New Cut Gems will go into gem pouches.
  • Obsidian added to no auto-sell list for gem pouches.

Component Discovery & Rest:

  • Warlocks no longer eligible for components given during rest as they do not need them.

As of next reset:

From MalKalz

Pixies:

  • Pixie PC race no longer restricted from taking Evil alignment (unlocking potential to play the Unseelie Court further by allowing Pixies into the mix with Gloaming).
  • Neutral requirement still needed (Able to be Neutral Good, True Neutral, Neutral Evil)
  • Future update will include new PC model for Pixies

Starter Area:

  • Added garbage bins to Entry area (players can dump their books off early)

Underdark (Saltspar)

  • Gloaming NPC updated with appropriate wings.
  • Kuo-toa NPC updated with newer model.

Underdark (Andunor Gate)

  • Gloaming NPC updated with appropriate wings.

Unoccupied Open Graves

  • Cordor Graveyard has an open grave added that acts like a trash barrel.
  • Bendir Dale has an open grave added that acts like a trash barrel.
  • Skaljard has a funeral pyre added that acts like a trash barrel.

AOE INDICATORS:

  • The new AoE targeting indicators introduced in NWN:EE patch 8193.35 are now supported on Arelith.
  • Both the server and client must support this feature, so you might need to update your game to access it.
  • Dynamic range increases applied by feats, paths, class levels etc. are not included yet; the indicators will default to the original spell behaviour.
  • If you notice any inaccuracies with targeting indicators beyond the above, let us know on the forums. Potential issues are:
    • Targets getting highlighted as affected even though they are not (and vice versa).
    • The spell's radius or AoE shape seeming off.
    • Spells retaining their AoE indicator when targeting singular creatures, even though they have no AoE when cast this way (example: Dispels)

  • 5 new types of bait: Glimlures
    These new items act as artificial bait and allow 5 fishing attempts before they break. Further value will be added to them in the Fishing Guilds update. Glimlures full under the Art crafting category.
    • Blue Glimlure, equivalent of small bait. DC 5 CP 20, makes 5
    • 1 Scroll of Colour Spray
    • 1 Cotton
    • 1 Wax
    • 1 Phenalope Dust
    • 1 Alexandrite
    • Teal Glimlure, equivalent of medium bait. DC 10 CP 40, makes 5
    • 1 Scroll of Colour Spray

    • Green Glimlure, equivalent of large bait. DC 15 CP 60, makes 5

The maur giants have been replaced with reimagined ogre models using new textures and animations. Now, they look like actual hunched giants. New descriptions by Svrtr, tattoos by Laur.

Staters:

  • Staters Creation have been disabled
  • * You will no longer be able to put gold into a gem scale and receive the stater item in return.
  • Staters and Selling
  • * This remains unchanged as they are technically a gem and so fall under normal gem sale rules.

Reasoning for Change:
Staters have been on the chopping block for some time, with a recent issue and future plans it has been decided their creation will now be disabled.
Of note, the future plans are not being disclosed at this juncture.
