USEFEAT COMMAND

  • The -usefeat calledshot command now has two additional parameters for each variant, arm and leg.
    • Example: -usefeat calledshot arm
    • When used without parameters, the variant will be chosen at random, as before.
  • The -warlock autoblast command now also works for Eldritch Doom.

Hello everyone!

After around four good years as Community Manager, I’ve decided it’s time for me to step back – at least for a while.
I’m passing the metaphorical reigns to MalKalz, who did this before me so can most certainly do a great job after.
I hope my own tenure has been satisfactory, but I’ve felt more stressed out, and gained far less joy, from this position of late and truthfully I feel that’s very much effected the quality of my work here.
So I felt it time to step back, take a break, and see how life goes. I don’t quite know what the future holds. For now I’m staying on as a DM, but in the next six months I could retire from staff entirely, or step up to community manager again, or something else entirely different! We shall see.
I’ll still be about, so this really isn’t a ‘goodbye’ but just keeping you all appraised of different duties.
Malkalz is now (or very shortly after this post) official community Manager. Come to him for community issues, or for appeals after Titania, or for Vampire/Rakshasa apps.

Name Changes Disabled

We are currently investigating an unusual case of a name change and have requested the DM team to not authorize any changes done via support tickets or through in-game commands. This will only be a temporary disable until we understand the cause of a single issue (that may even be unrelated). We will announce once it has been re-enabled.

Name Changes Enabled

Name changes are once again enabled. The isolated issue was not a result of a name change, but a rather very rare occurrence (which we will improve upon to avoid happening again). If you require a name change, you can submit it through the support portal or request it in-game. My recommendation is to always use the tickets.

Planned Maintenance

The servers will be unavailable for roughly 20 - 30 minutes. During this time we will be doing a hak update to the server (so you will have to download some haks on joining). The reason for the downtime is a result of a process interacting poorly and causing issues with haks if we were to send them when the servers are up. This maintenance is to avoid any issues happening.

Scheduled Maintenance

Servers will be brought down in 5 minutes. This will be to build our new haks to resolve outstanding bugs (such as t-posing models), as well as introduce other content. The process will take up to 30 minutes and then the servers will be brought back online. Thank you.

#TRANCHE 1 OF THE INVOKER BALANCING:

  • The tranche 1 of balancing for invokers is based on both feedback and the team's vision.
  • In the future, there might be additional tranches of tweaking their balance (either by introducing new features, buffing/nerfing existing ones, or a mix of the two).
  • Some of the changes (especially for Hemomancer) are overdue since the inclusion of extra blood magic spells.

<ABILITIES>

Red Harvest - Cooldown increase:

  • Self Cast - 75 sec.
  • Target - 75 sec (target slain with Red Harvest: 45 sec).

<REGEN>

  • Hemomancer regenerates focus over time to up to 20% (resting still works and now can fill up to 75% focus).
  • Elementalists can regenerate focus through rest now to 100%.

<FEATS>

  • Auto Quicken II is removed from Invokers' bonus feats (no longer granted during leveling).

<SKILLS>

  • Hemomancer's bonus concentration is lowered to +5 maxing out at Path Feature II.

<SUMMONS>

The mentioned summons below will be removed from Invokers which means they will no longer be able to cast them (even from items and scrolls). Picking epic spell feats will cause a relevel.

  • Planar Conduit.
  • Mummy Dust.
  • Dragon Knight.
  • Elemental Meteor - Elementalist will be allowed to pick the spell with the changes: the summon will last 2 rounds per CL if - Elementalist levels are present.
  • Greater Planar Binding.
  • Black Blade of Disaster.
  • Gate.
  • Create Greater Undead.
  • Elemental Swarm.
  • Summon Monster (VII-IX) - Will not function on Hemomancer.
  • Blood Homunculus - Will not function on Elementalist.

<SPELLS>

Spell list changes (removed spells) {Taking the epic spell feat will cause a relevel}

  • Hellball (From Hemomancer).
  • Vampire Feast (From Elementalist).
  • Elemental Meteor (From Hemomancer).
  • Planar Conduit.
  • Mummy Dust.
  • Dragon Knight.
  • Greater Planar Binding (removed from Hemomancer's spellbook).
  • Black Blade of Disaster (removed from Hemomancer's spellbook).

Spell list changes (changed spells)

  • Elemental Meteor - the summon will last 2 rounds per CL if Elementalist levels are present.
  • Hemorrhage - Damage is purely bleeding. Damage scales with CL (10 dice max). Damage dice lowered to d6. Scaling based on target HP (non-cumulative): below 90% max hp: +1DC +1d6 dmg; below 60% max hp: +2DC +3d6 dmg; below 30% max hp: +3DC +5d6 dmg.

<SPELLCOST>

Below shows the total cost increase, if a spell already had its cost increased - it is replaced with the value below

  • Acid Fog: +3.00 focus
  • Withering Ray: +2.00 focus.
  • Greater Dispel: +6.00 focus.
  • Wall of {Fire, Ice}: +4.00 focus.
  • Darkness: +3.00 focus.
  • Haste: +3.00 focus.
  • Greater Isaac's Missle Storm: +2.50 focus.
  • Lesser, Normal, and Greater Spell Mantle: +5.00 focus.
  • Incendiary Cloud: +3.00 focus.
  • Power Word Kill - removed additional cost.

  • Fishing Explosives:
    Another wacky invention from the gnomes of Lantan.
  • Explosives will disable the fishing spot for a short time. Repeated uses before the cool down expires will reset the cool down and grant no fish.
  • Exploded fish will spawn around the fishing spot.
  • Some fish are turned into meat when exploded.
  • Grenade feats grant minor bonuses to fish quantity.
  • Cannot be used on boats. (Stop blowin' holes in me ship!)
  • Will only catch small, medium and large fish.
  • This is an extremely inefficient (but fun) way to fish. Also might be used as a way to quickly "prospect" a fishing spot.
  • Recipe: Fishing Explosives
    (Alchemy)
    DC 12 CP 14
    • 1 Tourmaline Dust
    • 1 Alchemist's Fire
    • 1 Copper Ingot
    • 1 Wax
    • 1 Cotton

Outputs 6 Fishing Explosives

Greatings all!

Though ownership of quarters we ask that you are utilizing and ensuring that you are adequately RPing, so not just logging in to refresh!
Today Id like to talk about Taverns and Inn's!
For these, we would like to ask owners to add a bit more focus to their inns, make events for them, run them, ensure there is staff.
Mainly we would like these to be a bit more utilized than we would ask of a quarter shop or manor.

Some of them already are being used in this way! And we love to see it, this isnt a "Your terrible and we will take your toy away!" Its more of a gentle push hoping to see more excellent tavern RP :)

As of this latest reset, the new goblin skins should be selectable on character creation through the initial dialogue. If there are any issues, please report them on the forums.

From Kroatius

  • Add 6 goblin PC models. Existing Players and mobs are unchanged, but players can contact DMs to change to the new appearances.

Two new award selections that influence character height (please note that normal allowance is + / - 5%):

Minor Award: Expanded Height Options to allow for + / - 6%
Normal Award: Expanded Height Options to allow for + / - 7%

Please note this is not +/- 6 or +/- 7 plus the 5%. Just the value listed.

BUGFIX:

  • A good number of traps across the server have had/will be having their save DCs updated. These may be increases or decreases, depending on the location. The reason for this is that recent back-end improvements had the (known) side effect of causing many dynamic trap instances to default their save DCs to a fallback value, instead of what was intended by the builder(s), and we're catching up now.
  • This shouldn't have a drastic impact on most players, but being so widespread, it is being announced here so it isn't confused for a stealth update nerfing/buffing any dungeons! Just FYI on DC fixes for traps scattered about several dungeons.

From Sincra, as of next reset:

Taverns & Tavern Management:

  • Tavern owners can now view associated shop logs.
  • Tavern owners can now manage associated shops (Release).
  • Nations can now manage associated Tavern property.

Server Issues

I am currently aware of the server issues and am diagnosing. They apepar to be going through a crash loop related to something that went in and is not behaving as anticipated. I have started a revert of a single entry at a time and will see if I can isolate which it is.

I do not have an ETA yet.

Server Issues Update

I am about 25 - 30 minutes out from testing a possible solution. It would have been sooner, but the process ran out of disk space and I had to free some up and restart a step. If this does not resolve the issue, I will revert all hak related merges and see if that corrects it.

Servers should be back up and stable now. We believe we found the culprit of the issues and will address the concerns. We have not reverted other requests back into the mix that were taken out during root cause. I will wait to do this during the week and leave the servers stable for the weekend.

As compensation for the outage, all players have been awarded a normal award. This will not apply to your cooldown timer.
