Just a small update form myself.

  • 2 New Destination Portals (Including Temple of Silvanus - This will be adjusted to surfacer only when possible)
  • 2 Exit Portals at dungeons that lacked that (Tallissians & Minmir Caves level 3)
  • 3 of the Sencliff Henchmen updated to be mid/epic level (Given levelling speed 6 low level henchmen was unnecessary)
  • Removed rapier drops from NPC pirates, and a few other monsters.
  • Made the Gnoll Den in Arelith Forest slightly less punishing.
  • Few minor placeable fixes I noticed while playing.

As a result of on-going issues, I have placed the servers into maintenance mode. The 2.1 GB increase to the server manifest is being investigated and the root cause is still being determined. There will be no impact to your characters or accounts. The only inconvenience right now is the inability to login. We do apologize for the extended delay with the down time, but we are attempting to contact someone to look into a process that was recently updated that may be causing this. Thank you for understanding

Inventory Weight Breakdown Readout:

  • A new custom readout should go live next reset in the rest menu. This provides a sorted list of the weight of items in your inventory. This provides a breakdown per item / stack and should help with identifying things to drop in a pinch!

Going live shortly...

The New Brogendenstein.

This is a massive update, one that many of you may have seem me streaming over the year. It vastly improves and expands the Earthkin start position of Brogendenstein, replacing many areas, and adding dozens of others. Naturally this includes many new creatures, dungeons, homes and much else.

As with an update this size I do expect there to be certain bugs, and there will be further additions in the coming days, as we add more creatures and NPCs in and around the town.

The new dungeons will be without writs until I've had a chance to playtest them, and I'd urge other players to do the same - this really is a great time to start playing a new dwarf, gnome or halfling.

I will make a formal news post, alongside screenshots and a more detailed write up in the course of the next day or two, but in the meantime - enjoy the addition!

Writ Work

  • 15 New Writs added, mostly in and around Brogendenstein

(Development Notes - Brogendenstein starter writs are generally all low XP reward compared with the other starting locations, t
his is due to the fact there is a lot of content there to enjoy, and awarding large XP rewards would effectively mean that characters outlevel the surrounding areas before they have had time to enjoy it)

  • A number of other (surface) writs have had their XP rewards reduced

(Development Notes: As I have done before, each time more writs get added, many others have their rewards reduced , given that together the total volume of XP should bring players close to level 30. Due to the above new writs, and many other recent additions currently one only needs to do a small faction of available writs to reach high epic levels. This is not the intention of the system.)

Procedural Loot Changes

  • Magical Shields have been added alongside the Magical Bracers, Boots, Cloaks and Amulets currently being dropped by 'rare' encounters.

  • Stat/Skill magical items (see above) have had their drop frequency significantly reduced, and as such should no longer flood shops on Arelith. In lieu of that some of the time these rare (named) creatures will drop treasure loot (items, weapons/armour) or increased gold.

Creature Work & AI Behaviour

  • The addition of many new spawns sets, using many new creature skins.

  • Many existing creatures (tigers, bears etc) now use improved updated skins

  • More 'docile' animals added (rabbits, foxes, goats)

  • With the addition of many new 'friendly' animals Hoodoo and myself are looking into the behaviour that is causing deer/rabbits etc to turn hostile to PCS, a temorary fix is in place which may solve the issue, this will require further investigation in coming days.

Bloodlines for Orogs

After some revisions we are going to release this again, now that new features have been implemented around bloodlines. The Orog race now has two new bloodlines available to them as of the next reset. These are available at character creation.

Existing Orog's WILL recieve a "bloodline token" which allows them to use the new -bloodline chat command to select a bloodline to be applied to their character. You will have 30 days from the next login on your Orog character after the reset to redeem the token. If you have an Orog and do not wish to use the token and remain the default spread you can ignore the reminder prompts.

Bloodline Details

  • Bloodline of the Pact: CON +2, WIS -4, CHA +2
  • Bloodline of the Seer: DEX -2, INT +2, WIS +2
  • Default Orog for reference: STR +2, CON +2, WIS -4

Note: These bloodlines are available without an award and receive the same ECL as the base Orog. The base Orog stat spread remains unchanged.

Server Status Update:

The team continues to work on outstanding issues with the server. There will be some noticeable script errors every now and then and some uncooperative features such as notes, notebooks, etc. that are connected through the DB. I would encourage you to not invest into major writing if the behaviour of notes is not to our usual standard. We are working on identifying the issues and will continue to provide progress as we can. However, we are encouraging our staff to continue to prioritize their real life obligations first before tackling this.

  • The NUI Armour Appearance Editor is now enabled for UI scales from 1.0 to 1.3, rather than just 1.0.
  • The -loadoutfit command has been temporarily disabled, as its existing implementation causes problems with the latest NWN version.

BUG FIXES:

  • Rest Menu: Fixed item mirroring and per-part color display values in the Appearance Settings.
  • Cover: Cover status is once more determined correctly.

Manacles:

  • An issue where directly casting Mordenkainen's Disjunction on the Runic Manacles item in inventory wouldn't proc the degrade check has been fixed. You should now be able to do it.

Update on -loadoutfit:

  • We're working on some solutions related to this. I've got something pushed that prevents old outfits from being loaded but reenables the command, but that's our worst-case option. Sincra's actually in the lab trying to work on a way to make it backwards compatible. Should see this at least usable one way or the other, soon. Sorry guys.

Update on -loadoutfit:

  • loadoutfit and appearance commands are reenabled. Old outfits that were saved before update .35 will be inaccessible indefinitely, but we are trying to find a solution to enable backwards compatibility. You can still replace your old outfits with updated versions.
  • Head models will no longer change when using -appearance, except if you're a Rakshasa.
  • Accessory models (rings, amulets, etc.) will no longer change when using -appearance.

  • Legacy outfits should update to new versions on being loaded.
    (Thanks to SK for helping me test)

Outfit changes:

  • -Loadoutfit is now appearance once again, -a no longer does anything as this functionality is built into the base command.
  • -Loadoutfit -list now is seperate from Loadouts.
  • -Saveoutfit works as before.
  • -Appearance still functions as normal.

Loadouts:

  • -Loadout command, this only handles the swapping of items, not appearance.
  • -Loadout -list is seperate from Outfits.
  • -Saveloadout handles saving of loadouts, has the -d and -r operators like "-saveoutfit -r/d".
  • -equip alias now applies to -loadout.
  • -listloadouts applies to -loadout -list

Pickpocketing:

  • Fixed an issue where Pickpocket can be used on dead targets.
  • Pickpocketing any NPC target will now proc an observation check for all players nearby. Previously this was only for when pickpocketing PCs.
  • Fixed an issue where 1 rolls were counting as successes.

  • "-observe" now works on Manacle release attempts, such as the ones provided using "-uncuff".

Custom Classes Missing Spells

We are aware of the issue where classes like Warlock, Hemomancer and such display having no spells or unknown feats. We are still looking at root cause. However, if you do a -relevel it will appear and work.

Update: This only appears to have impacted characters who were on when the issue happened. If it’s happening to old characters that weren’t on in the past day and a bit, let us know.

  • The Filter is now uncapped as the system has been moved to a better storage architecture.

  • Non-self targeted feats were disabled due to an exploit. This is now fixed, and they can once again be used through through toolbar NUI.

  • Coffee beans no longer come from fishing crates.
  • The old Roast Rothe Ribs, Squig Sausages and Hearty Salmon (Sorn) Steak recipes updated to reflect their actual items. Now more generic.
  • Hearty Sorn Steak now takes 3 sorn fillet and outputs 3 for the same amount of points and DC.
  • Continued addition of the new food recipes.

I am not aware of what caused hte issue; however, it will continue to be looked into when able. However, those impacted by the loss should use -relevel. If there are issues, please post it to the bug forums and I will point individuals there to help resolve. Thank you.

Empty Spellbooks and Spellswords

I've been made aware that there is an issue with the Spellswords and -relevel where it could be removing all learned spells. I am unable to confirm what is happening or take a look at it - though if this is the case, and you do not wish to risk it, please do not -relevel as a Spellsword. Either way, we will find a way to resolve it for players.

Next reset from Starfish:

  • More recipes in, we don't have many more to go
  • Animated Fish Soup has a soft Lore requirement of 15 (For the scroll)

BUG FIXES

  • Spellbound Wands: Improved the reliability of their spell DC calculation, particularly in regards to cleric domain spells.
  • Delayed Blast Fireball: Now also applies metamagic when cast directly at an enemy.
  • Arcane Flux: Correctly replenishes harmful radial spells such as Shadow Storm.
  • Dehydrate: Now affects the intended target, rather than the caster.
  • Maelstrom Pike: No longer prevents the use of instant special attacks like Whirlwind Attack.
  • Warlock Summons: Now respect Banishment / Dismissal summoning limitations.
  • Protection Domain: Increases the Shield spell's Force Damage Resistance to 3/- if lower.
    • This replaces the non-functional immunity against Isaac's Lesser Missile Storm.

From Kroatius and Kalopsia

GLOAMING WINGS

  • Gloamings can now choose between three wing options on character creation.
  • Existing characters are unaffected, but may contact the DM team to alter their wing appearance if desired.

Soundset Issue

Kalo has identified the issue with the soundsets being lost. After this reset they should hold to your character and not be impacted. If you have lost your soundset, please work with the DM team by utilizing support tickets online to assign them again. Thank you.

SENCLIFF STORAGE

Pirates now have storage they can access in the Sencliff bank.
Storage based on pirate rank, with 2 slots being granted at Shipmate and capping out at 12 slots at Dread.
