The Nine Hells have stretched their corrupting influence further to open Gates upon the isle of Arelith. As a ley was used to open a portal to Baator, this was employed by the Devils as a chance to gain a sideway to move troops into the Abyss during the Blood Wars.
A coalition of Arelith forces, led by Stephen Hull and Dante Lyons, co-Councilors of Cordor, defeat the first devil hordes, closing the gate to Baator.
As a side effect, the leys got collapsed and many of them vanished or degenerated into minor destination points.

50 AR (Cordor and Wharftown) The war is declared between the settlements of Cordor and Wharftown.

70 to 73 AR (Cordor).- Firsala, Jolly Fiddlesticks and Havardr Steinsson dominated the cordorian political scene during three years, arguing a state of emergence to fight the generic decay and corruption within the administration of both, the Guard and the Council itself.

74 AR (Bramble Wood).- The Bramble Watch forms under the Korab Clan, led by Jan "Nightingale" Korab as the Warden. An outpost is built, initially on the hilltop presently known as Howling Point, eventually relocated to the present hill that now houses their fortification.

AR79 - [POL] Bothor Gentlebreeze, then Warden of the Bramble Watch, formally declares the Bramble Forest independent of Heartwood oversight, and the Bramble Watch as a separate, sovereign entity.

The Bramble Watch was not founded after Botheor Gentlebreeze declared independence from the Heartwood.. i mean.. technically, yes it was formed "AFTER" but Bother formally declared the "Bramble Rangers" as sovereign entity in AR79.... ~not~ The Bramble Watch. -there might still be the message still attached to Bothor's message board in the Bramble Shelter describing this.

I don't recall the exact date, but I would say it was close (if not more) to a RL year after Bother's "Bramble Independence"... and the disappearance of the leader of the Bramble Rangers.

The Bramble Watch was the brain-child of Therian Quel (sp?) in a meeting with Lia, Kianda and Orion... though the name "Bramble Watch" was thunk-up on the spot, during that meeting in a brain-storm of ideas.. "The Bramble Watch" name, almost didn't stick.
The Man of the Moon wrote:87 AR [POL] The new Bramble Watch outpost is built.

There had been many temporary shelters at the outpost over the years, but a permanent one actually built INTO the hillside that you 'step down into' was created by the Pathfinders Expeditionary Corps and dedicated to "the Bramble Watch" on the one-year anniversary of the official founding of the Bramble Watch. -there is a bronze plaque on the wall inside the Bramble Shelter describing this dedication.

The fixtures that lived at the Bramble Outpost we REGULARLY growing legs and walking away. around the time that Bothor's long absence from the Bramble after his declaration of Heartwood-independence, we started documenting the descriptions of the fixtures that were there, and were able to pretty quickly replace them with at least similar things, which gave the outpost at least some sense of stability in look and style, until Artos finally made them permanent, using the current Outpost Fixture descriptions as his model for the revamp. (kudos!)

I dunno if you could call the Bramble Outpost "built" in AR87... maybe... 're-built' ?

anyway... if there is one name to include with the Bramble Watch, you're definitely missing Therian in there as Bramble Watch founder, if nothing else.

Kainda by her own words included Jan Korab as part of the genesis of the Bramble Watch when she recounted the history to Kregor. Amira, still an active PC, also counts Jan, Fiala, herself, etc, in the line of succession along with Therian as a common group. They even kept the traditions of animal nicknames for their members consistent, a tradition that held until Kregor's stint as Warden, when the nicks were ditched.

The headstone on Jan Korab's grave at the foot of the hill says "founder of the Bramble Watch." A landmark that existed there before Kregor's arrival to Arelith in AR86.

Therian also counted the previous wardens in succession when Kregor talked with him ICly.

So semantics of "Bramble Rangers" vs. "Bramble Watch" aside, the group as it stands counts any and all iterations, including the current one, as the same entity, merely separate Orders of the group, much like there's been five Orders of the Knights of the Road.

Also, while some parts of the outpost persisted through the build out by Artos, there was, in fact an IC refortification of the hill that was planned ICly and assumed to take place when the new area was put in - that being to connect the hills with bridges (first discussed with Sellenia when the treaty was being negotiated), and then the ramparts and watchtower.

I do agree that the effort in 87AR needs to be fleshed out and reworded. Giving credit where credit is due, something like:

AR87 - [POL] The Pathfinders Expeditionary Corps, in cooperation with the Bramble Warden Therian Quel, construct a fixed installation of the Bramble outpost on the hilltop that holds its present fortification.

Bothor's records are, alas, the only few written records still in existence - which I constructed some of the entries I submitted here from. Other than that, it's been recounting by various past members ICly (Amira, Kainda, Therian, among them). So I've done my best to reconstruct history as many would have IRL - by handed down tradition.

The Bramble watch/rangers/etc vastly predate Bothor, Kainda and Jan Korab (if that's what you're getting at in your third paragraph, disregard this!). I distinctly recall an entity inhabiting that hill when I first joined the server, which was mid-2011. Whatever the case, the Korab group was well settled in by at least AR 75.

Why should the great bell of Beaulieu toll when the shadows were neither short nor long?

AR74 is what I got from IC documentation and accounts, so yes, we agree on time frame. :)

I do not have any information on any other group assembling and labelling themselves as the Bramble Watch/Rangers/etc, before the Korab clan in AR74, so that's the present IC history of the faction. As I see it:

This is just the highlights, since it's the Cordor timeline. I'm guessing between myself and others we could put together a separate timeline for the succession and the orders of the group. It's actually something I've wanted to do for ages, and we do have one legacy member still around. Amira (smokingbadger) has been with the group since Jan was alive, and has seen a lot of the progression. ICly, she's the historian for the group, so hopefully we'll have a more comprehensive history sooner or later

(And another thread, because we're digressing this one) :)

15+? AR [SOC] Foundation of the Rosewind Troupe Campment. The Brinson Family camped at the outdoors of Cordor with their followers found the Rosewind Troupe.
This happened a bit later than you have listed. Initially, there was no rosewind troupe. Back then, it was the "Gyspy camp" or something similar.

The gypsys were lynched by off duty cordor guards due to allegations of crimes such as defecating in the well and stealing chickens from Hovlin (allegations that were proven true moments before the lynching). Immediately after said lynching, the Rosewind Troupe moved into the now abandoned gypsy camp. Only a few people (such as the fortune teller) were left after the lynching.

The lynching happened roughly 2-4 years after Cameo and Zeer kidnapped Galverson, but before Venitiri came to Arelith.

Additionally, within a year of Rosewind being founded (give or take), the Cordor High Court and Judge Carrion were locked down and no longer accessable to the public.

15+? is a reference to a date that may be since 15 in advance (+), and which exactly date is unknown (?)

Any date that I had listed with a "+" or "?" is a date not exactly and unknown, only estimated by aproximation and will be awesome get it polished as this ocasion with your great info.

Thanks mate! (Updated) :)

Some more stuff about duchy years:

15-16AR - Duke Galverson announces that the Cordor Guard is to be disolved. Each district is accountable for running itself and instituting its own guard force. Baron K. Falk of the Lower District is the first to do this, controversially hiring a banite group, "The Dogs of War," to police his district. Temple district quickly followed suit and recruited their own guards and making a deal with Dafyyd Silvertongue and The Knights of the Road. The Merchant district was the last to institute a district guard, employing a subdivision of the Coalition of the Jewel's Heart. Helm's Watch takes up residency in the old Guard Headquarters, offering their service as guards to multiple districts.

16-17AR - Baron Gabriel passes away. Temple District knight, Hufiira White-Rose is appointed new baron and knights Thal Oakenheart, who had been a squire for Dame Eldafire of the Merchant District.

18-19AR - A fight takes place between the leadership of Helm's Watch within the old Guard Headquarters, causing severe damage to the facility, caving in the ceiling. Helm's Watch disbands.

20AR - The old Guard Headquarters are repaired and the Cordor Unified Guard is reformed under the leadership of Graash Zorgar with the support of Barons Oakenheart, Salik, & White-Rose. Eldafire also later accepted their jurisdiction in the Merchant District. Legendary Guard, Johnathan Diastole is resurrected and helps solidify the guardforce in his re-joining.

List of Barons and their Districts:

Lower Cordor
Kedrin Falk, Salik

Merchant District
Cameo Giovani, Trynn'delynn Eldafire, Jacob Swift(Eldafire's proxy while away)

Temple District
Rask Under-river, Graash Zorgar, Sir Thal Oakenheart, Rowen Oakenheart

Manner District(Outskirts)
Gabriel(last name? NPC, former Councilor), Dame Raven "Huefiira" White-Rose

Upper Cordor
None was seen necessary to appoint with the presence of the new Amnish Embassy

Celestia Silverarms
Karynn Eldafire

Jolly Fiddlesticks was councilor during the Pax Cordoria time. For ten or twelve years although I'm not sure of the times.

Echo Hemlocke-Ralkai served as Councilor (And Trade Commissioner) after the Firsala Council but I'm unsure of the exact date. This was at the time of the huge undead crisis. The memorial in Lower Cordor might have the dates.

Giogi Silveroak was also a Councilor a number of times during that period.

I won't add any councilor asignement by itself, because there were toooo many Councilors and there is no way to keep track of all oof them in the proper order nor even dated.

Edited: I will add councilors even if they didn't made anything important, as long as I could get the name of the complete triunvirate and a date for them to be allowed to place them inside the timeline.

I will include for sure any Councilor if their names were attached with some important event or success.
(Perhaps, I might mention Echo Hemlocke-Ralkai due the undead crisis, but then... When that happened? Can't neither add something without any clue about where to place it. If at least there were some aproximation... Like in the 90th decade, or something.

(Unless someone could provide an exhaustive councilors list with dates, but I doubt we could get it here, while we cannnot get shorter lists from other settlements)

The event was a few RL weeks long. Almost the entire council term for Giogi, Jolly and Echo, if that helps jog anyone's memory of the date. The old forums might have the RL date under Undead event but I can't seem to find it.

That council was the one that, unfortunately, started the council minutes and public meetings in and effort to increase political transparency.

99-101 AR is remarkable for the excessive council turnover, with four councils in those two terms.

Term 1: Louis Hawklight, Euclio Cartan, Ivo Krahe (ended almost immediately, no significant events)
Term 2: Louis Hawklight, Euclio Cartan, Tara'synel (lots of political reform, no significant events)
Term 3: Louis Hawklight, Rune, Tara'synel (Civil War in Cordor)
Term 4: Louis Hawklight, Zenia Hawklight, Tara'synel (Temple of the Triad, Army of Light, Zhentarim)

The first two terms are unimportant, the second two can be attached to significant events. All of them are mildly remarkable for the unprecedented rate of Council turnover.

Hmmm... Maybe I sounded as a dictator now that I see above...

So let's do this: I will add Councilors as long as I could get the three names of the three councilors and the aproached date for them.

Yes, that seems fair.

btw... updated (in need to polish all the stuff some day)

Councilor/Magistrate Trynn Eldafire refined and expanded the law system (although most of it has been reduced now to only two boards) during most of the early Pax Cordoria period. Does anyone know the dates for this?

Does anyone have the date for the introduction of the flagship and the first admiral?

She is already in the Timeline, but I added an entry for her, including your info. Look at the last note before the Duchy Age.

Could be awesome get a date for this... I may look later in the former timelines from Cuchilla and others including the updates Artos and Mith added... We may be lucky...

Following the close of the Baronial age and the arrival of Lord Vetinari, Lady Eldafire stepped down and graciously gave her estate up to the city. She was declared a hero by the lord himself.
I understand you're trying to include alot of the titles she had throughout her life, but placing it in a specific era section can be a bit confusing. During the baronial period, the only titles she held were Knight, Baron, Co-founder of the CJH(Coalition of the Jewel's Heart), and Captain of the CJHMDG/MDG(that is: "Coalition of the Jewel's Heart - Merchant District Guard," and later just "Merchant District Guard" what can I say, Trynn liked her acronyms).

The other titles(Magistrate, Head Magistrate, Commander of the Guard, General, Councilor) all came later throughout the Pax Cordoria era.

Concerning the law system. She did alot, but not so much as this paragraph implies. Most of the laws early on were actually reformed by Tifa "Theopania" Nguyen(later known as Tifa Amolyn affter marrying). Trynn did give her some input on the law reform, but it was mostly Tifa's product.

Later, after return and after her retirement from the Guard to raise her daughters, she spent her years on her pet project of completely redesigning Cordor's law system. This project spanned 20ish sign and message boards and was extremely comprehensive and was praised for having very few holes in it. As her daughters got older, and she was able to complete the project, she proposed the rewrite to the councilors and guard commander. The council at the time consisted(i think?) of Jolly Fiddlesticks, Giogi Silveroak, and Firsala. Praised as they were, the law reform was never established by that council or the next. This created some confusion since the proposal was kept at the courthouse and some officials mistook it for the actual legislation. It was not until much later when Trynn served on the council with Echo and Jolly that she saw to a number of the clauses from her proposal put into law. There was, however, very much of her proposal that never was adapted.

And Vetinari's exact words were "Civil Minded Hero," that is, just after he MADE her give it up and took her shiny stick.

Darn... Giogi Silveroak was here in Cordor for 100 years?

I rewrote it... But keep in mind I shall polish everything more and make it shortened even. Feel free to check and writte yourself a short entry if you preferred to do it.

Here, I fixed it for you(these should actually go under the pax cordoria age):

22ar: Following the close of the baronial age which was marked by the arrival of Lord Vetinari who possessed deeds to most of the major settlements on the island, all the remaining barons graciously gave up their estates to the city, some even being hailed as civic minded heroes by the patrician himself.

23-29AR: After rejoining the Pax Cordoria Unified Guard(PCUG), the last baroness of the Merchant District, Lady Trynn'delynn Eldafire, worked closely with Council Chairman, Tifa Amolyn, to refine and expand the law system during most of the early Pax Cordoria period.

EDIT: also, the entry at 17AR about vetinari arriving is incorrect. He didnt show up till 21 or 22, though his arrival was rumored by Simone Giovani(wife of former Baron Under-river and cousin of the executed sharran baron, Cameo) about a year earlier. This suggested some personal involvement with Vetinari when also considered that the patrician appointed Simone to his first advisory council.

23-29AR: Also, the most prominent councilors throughout the Pax's early years were Chairwoman Tifa Amolyn, Synesthesia, and Cuchilla. Tifa was one of the very few other councilors whos number of consecutive years spent on the council would rival the political powerhouse that was Jolly Fiddlesticks decades later. Another citizen favorite was the fey Xinin Drias who was councilor only for 1-2 years before he was murdered by drow. His body was buried by the lake on the hill outside the outskirts gates where the old portal was located.

As the timeline seems most murky between when Vetinari shows up and when the mechanical voting system was put in, I'll focus on that.
Tifa Amolyn and Synesthesia were the prominent councilors going into Vetinari's reign in Cordor. Johnathan Diastotle having died and Talon.. the rest of it escapes me, left the guard under Graash Zorgar's guidance and authority with Rask Under-river being his close second in command. Clarimonde Wynn and Cuchilla were added to the council when it was officiated under Vetinari with Tifa Amolyn. Successors to the council at this time were chosen by council members by vote, or hand chosen by Vetinari.

Dante Lyons' first term was the last before the mechanical voting system was put in. Stephen Hull was his co-councilor, responsible for drafting many of the laws in their original form that have survived to today on conduct and interaction between different parts of the government. It was his company, The Trackless Sea Trading Company, that Dante made his fortune in and as partners joined the council to influence the city towards their ideals. It is unclear where they fell out over, but Dante experienced a period of memory lapse and personal endangerment (as his existence depended on being possessed by an air elemental) that seemed to force the two of them apart and they went abrupt separate ways.

When the mechanical voting system was put in is when we start to get into Jolly Fiddlesticks and Dante Lyon's second term as Councilor.

Graash controlled the guard until he chose to retire. By the time he stepped down, both Rask and Diastole were gone. Talon and Trynn were his officers. Talon took over after Graash retired until he died of natural causes less than a year later. Before his death, he stepped down from the guard after arranging a vote for the next commander. Trynn was the main contender, only Jacob Swift attempted to run against her, but the vote was unanimous and Trynn was Commander for the next five years, until her mysterious disappearance. After Trynn's disappearance, Keira Heavenstrike commanded for some time before she was ousted politically.

Dante's last term was in 49AR, the year Trynn returned to Arelith. Jolly didn't enter Cordor's political arena until much later, in the 60s, i believe. Trynn proposed her law rewrite late 70's

I remember Talon being in charge but stepping down around when Clarimonde and Cuchilla entered the council myself. But you likely have the right of it. You paid far more attention to the guard than I did at the time. Clarimonde took over the guard when Dante pushed Keira Heavenstrike out of the office due to her single handedly killing the guard roster. Clarimonde's successor was a warrior named Veneoso I believe. Though I likely misspelled it.

I am honestly surprised that Graash Zorgar does not have more mentioned on him in this thread or others. He was a game changer for a lot of Cordor and the island at large and was responsible or played big roles in almost every big event before his retirement. It seems like only the older players give him any credit for anything as most of the server's population was not around then. I would argue though that Graash Zorgar, Rae Lexius Blackmour (sorry if I mangled it), and Ryan Valtheran were some of the truly Epic and Legendary characters of Arelith. Who, to this day, influence and direct a lot of RP we take for granted in both the religions they represented and the way things have been handled and become traditional on Arelith in a multiple of small ways.
