Make players wait an I.G month before they pay off Assassin contracts

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:
- implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
- the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
- the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to tweak X class.

Make players wait an I.G month before they pay off Assassin contracts

Post by Dagonlives » Mon Nov 26, 2018 6:36 pm

Assassination contracts and the Guild are often seen as rather ineffectual and just a form of economic warfare. Settlement leaders inevitably just pay off the bounty and continue on until they are out of gold. I would propose that a contract would have to remain live for at least 72 hours before it can be paid off to give Assassins a crack at it, and add more danger to the guild.
My Rp kinda like droppin' a betta in an otherwise serene fish-tank.

Current Concepts:
Jhaamdath Wenchslayer, Drow weaponmaster and pirate captain

Eruantien Chil Ryilnn Aelorothi Aleansha, War-mage and Diviner of Evermeet. .

This makes good sense, and would definitely make the assassin class more fun to play.

Approved.

This is very similar to this

viewtopic.php?f=51&t=26359&p=208678&hil ... in#p208678

Moving this to 'rejected' purely because a 'month' is longer now than it was then. (back when written a month is three days, now it's ten.) Making this suggestion a little defunct on the exact amount of time? That being said - it's approved for there to be a wait period before contracts can be paid off.
This too shall pass.

(I now have a DM Discord (I hope) It's DM GrumpyCat#7185 but please keep in mind I'm very busy IRL so I can't promise how quick I'll get back to you.)
