Split Bookshelf Matrix In C&P

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:
- implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
- the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
- the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to tweak X class.

Split Bookshelf Matrix In C&P

Post by Kuma » Wed Oct 09, 2019 6:05 am

this is a big ask, i know

Split the "common" bookshelf matrix that governs the Cities & Planes server in two: "Common" and "Underdark Common". I believe we have Common (regular bookshelf books), Magic (special books found in special libraries), and Loot (loot). The current solution, similar to town criers crossing between Cordor and Andunor, means that Andunor winds up with random Cordorian historical books, and tomes on the joy of Ilmater. Meanwhile, the Cordor library randomly gets books about Udosian Blood Magic, and similar evils.

I do know this is a colossal ask, but might go a long way to furthering the two culturally, and make the various libraries on the server make more sense.

also can we just take the shaalira books out of the surface magic one i love the books but PLEASE GOD THE TOWER IS FULL OF THEM AND I DONT KNOW WHY

I have different plans for the libraries (they will become owned/managed locations where the custodians can set their chosen book selection)

Rejected.
