Melf's acid arrow refreshes/stacks on 2nd cast

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:
- implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
- the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
- the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to tweak X class.

Melf's acid arrow refreshes/stacks on 2nd cast

Post by cornelius_4 » Sun Sep 27, 2020 1:01 pm

Currently, if you cast Melf's acid arrow on a target that already has the effect, the 1d6/round effect isn't reapplied.

I think it should at least refresh the 1d6/round effect, so you don't have to wait for the previous one to end if it's about to, before casting another arrow.

Instead of refreshing, it could also stack to some extent. If there's already 1d6/round effect active on the target, add a different 1dx/round effect (could be just 1 damage/round for those lvl/3 rounds or 1d2, 1d3 etc).

Or it could refresh the current one and add +1 damage so it becomes 1d6+1/round, next time 1d6+2/round and so on.
