Fire Mage with Fire Summon

Post by Senshi » Mon May 31, 2021 2:42 am

(yes its me again..)

Heeeey,

Im having a lot of fun with fire spells. Lots of dmg and booms!

Im interesting in looking in to a Fire mage build that does good dmg and has a summon. (as i love summon gameplay)

Im thinking Full 30wiz.. but im unsure. Not the best at making build just yet. Still learning all the classes.

I believe Evocation Epic is needed for the no damage to caster for big boom

I want to send out a Balor(or whatever works, lean towards evil) to tank and then shoot big fire damage.

Any help would be nice.

<3

*edit Looking in to it, maybe sorc is the way.

I personally love sorcerer. It's a very fun class and I'd consider this a lot more beginner friendly than wizard.
While wizard has access to basically all of the mage spell list, they can only memorize some in advance. Where as sorcerer has access to less spells from the list but doesnt need to memorize and has more spells per day.

I personally played 30 sorcerer, in order to fit in as many epic feats as possible, but I actually recommend a Ranger dip if you play it long enough to reach late epic lvls. Ranger will give you 1 bonus feat for (if you have a greater spell focus in your feat list ready to be upgraded to epic, then you can use a ranger bonus feat for that if it's in epic lvls) epic spell focus, access to Armor of Immolation and a chance to max out your Discipline, which is important for everyone. So I'd say 27 sorcerer 3 ranger, focusing on Conjuration, Abjuration and Evocation, and picking Greater Ruin and Hellball for big bada booms.

Armor of Immolation is on that list. Pretty much it's a decent set of armor that can afford you the ability to always have that fiery look with Elemental Shield.

Give a look at Conjuration Specialist Wizard too. They allow you to summon a Monolothic Fire Elemental, biggest that there is.

You loose access to Transmutation spells, but your summons are auto-hasted to compensate. Assuming you go lvl 30 Wiz for 100% chance for Monolith summon, you get 7 epic feats. That allows you to net 1.) ESF: Conj, 2.) ESF: Evoc, 3-5.) Autoquicken I, II, III, 6.) Hellball, 7.) Greater Ruin.

They can also (obviously) spawn Balors via Gate, which are the beefiest you can get via Gate with 30 CL Wizard. Plus you can pack as many blast spells as you wish. Specialist Wizards get one extra spell slot per tier, so it is just 1 less than Sorc while allows flexibility in choosing. Can pack plenty of Fire spells, both Evocation and Conjuration ones.

If you like Balors the most, though, Abyssal Warlock is an option. Allows you to have a permanent Balor Lord with you. Paladins and good characters will hate you tho. Warlocks also blast fire, but it is mostly rays instead of dropping down a meteor swarm.

You can give Summon stats a look under wiki, summons.
