Let's say for the sake of argument that I want to optimize fishing and returns from fishing. What's the best craft skill spread for that?

If Im going to do it, it'll be something like this:

Smithing 19 - 60% in making your damask hooks
Carpentry 17 - 50% in making your reinforced fishing rod
Artcrafting 1 - Bug jar
Herbalism 23 - No failing unless roll of 1 for all food and potion products by fishing. 70% success on huge baits.

Definitely worth taking brew potion with this setup if you're one with spells. If not, the 50% more brewed potion is a great addition if you dont mind not being able to use the vanilla function of the feat.

Only thing you can't make is a fisherman's waders and the new fishing themed amulets.

Or are you going the commoner's route?

I ‘d believe one can just buy fishing rod from people. Can save smithing and woodworking. Would not cost mush if you prepare the material and ask someone to make it for you

Comer do have a lot more crafting point but takes long to level
