Questions over tribal barbarian

Post by Sandrow » Fri Oct 07, 2022 5:37 pm

I'm about to try a tribal barbarian as my next character. It's too much fun to rp with two npcs around. But I need advices to make my leveling more smoothly.

Multiclass with knight for bonus and healing sounds fun. But it's hard to decide when to multiclass.

How could I buff my tribal warriors? Could a sequencer do so?

What will happen if I pick small or tiny race as tribal barb, will they change their weapons?

Which role should I be as a tribal barb? A supporter of henceman or another striker? Ranged or melee?

Tribal class is abysmal in strength post-epics, especially if you went to get in there and melee with them.

Your best bet is playing a heavy shaman plus barbarian combo; 2/3 of shaman levels act as tribal barbarian levels (i.e. ([shaman levels x 2]/3) = tribal barbarian progression).

This means you have a few builds you can play with:
1. An archery-based build (see: here), or
2. A high summon build (see: here).

1. Tribal barbarians are henchmen, so sequencers do not work on them. You can buff them the old way (scroll, wands, spells, etc.).

2. Definitely be a supporter like I mentioned above.

3. No idea how small/tiny works out.

4. Knight sounds good (bonus AB, healing, Oath of Wrath synergies) but it requires too much investment (lv 7 Knight) which makes tribal barbarian even worse; a major tribal barbarian level is 24 (e.g. enhancement bonus, hard STR, saves, and epic weapon focus).

Thanks for the tips.
