Hello friends, I have been gone for some time and as is usual, found my way back in to The World. That said, I have been gone since around/slightly before the EE upgrade. I played a little bit of EE after it released just to taste it, but was nowhere near invested at all at the time. SO.. a lot has changed. A lot a lot. At the time slightly before and around EE, I was in a different place in life and didn't have much time for gaming and I sorta fell off the bandwagon in general. I have a bad habit of going a little too all-in with the beautiful gaming experience of Persistent NWN RP, and I just didn't have the time for it. Well. I'm back. And damn are things different.
In good ways though. I don't want to digress, but being my first post back, I just want to say that I love the evolution of the world, and I was very pleasantly surprised to see the population. Even more pleasantly surprised to see that RP hadn't suffered because of it. I was afraid of that; of an increased population creating a relaxation of culture. Certainly hasn't. As a NwN old head I am happy to report, in MY opinion, the server AND its populace are in a healthier position than I expected with everything considered. I'm digging it.
So... a lot has changed mechanically with the classes; new classes I've never even seen. So some questions I have about builds currently-
What's a general description of the current Wizard caster meta? Is specialist worth it? Is 30 Wiz a trap? If so, what else and why? Do you just stack your pick of ESFs with ES: Planar Conduit? Not that every wizard should do it, but from a stance of meta power? PvP perspective- what build 'directions' are plausible to be able to be worth any salt?
Other question: what's the dual wielding meta look like? Fighter Weapon Master all the way like usual? If I were to roll an elf with the intention of dual-wield without Rogue being the core, what does that look like? Ranger and what? Can ranger focused builds hold a candle against the typical Fighter/WM? What about Str based > Dex based? Is Dex based vs Str based in the same place it has always been?
Anywho, for RP reasons, the two characters I have in mind are a Wizard, and a dual wielding warrior of some kind. So, any help in pointing me in any direction is more than welcomed. Feel free to just bullet point, or go full blown description. Also, if anyone actually DOES consider themselves an expert build artist, and would like to reach out and discuss with me, I would welcome a private PM discussion about a few things. I just already feel timid about having to ask generalized information when I used to consider myself a NwN scholar, and I could, admittedly, ask much much more. I am by no means a NwN newb, but I am also completely out of the loop. Anyhow, thanks for reading your way through my long-winded mentality. And I thank you for any consideration.
