DEAR GODS WHY!? IT HURTS MY BRAIN!

Seriously there's wayyyy too much white space and it's legit giving me a headache to look at it. A few other people have also said in a chat that they hurt their brains looking at it too.

It's not intentional. I agree, it looks ugly. We had to upgrade phpBB for it to work on the new server which obliterated our custom style, and we didn't want to delay the migration to sort out theme issues. Somebody will get around to it soon.

honestly, i wasn't crazy about the old theme. Especially cause of my color blindness making it hard sometimes to tell if a topic had new posts in it. I kinda prefer the new phpbb, and I love some of the new features, like getting alerts when people quote you in a thread

The new features are great and it's also really mobile friendly it's just the white space. There's so much blank, bright space that those of us sensitive to it literally get headaches from looking at it.

I installed a less bright and headache inducing theme until someone who actually knows what they are doing has time to look at it.

edit: back in the day, when we used to use the old old OLD forums, we had a choice of themes we could each set to our profiles. Any way of bringing that back? I think someone even made a Stonehold theme

I miss the OG one. Text is annoying to read with it being a shade of gray and the background being a darker shade of gray. And the read/unread colors on the symbols are too alike, both green.

edit: Browsing the forums for a few minutes gave me a headache with the dark setup.

In regards to the new portal, it's VERY pretty! But even on desktop I have to scroll ten times to see all the names. I love how it looks, but it would be amazing if it were shrunk so we can see everyone all on one screen!

The challenge is that our customisations (like the removal of the registration function) need to be applied to each style. So it's not as trivial to import styles as it might otherwise be.

Very true. I was more so meaning that I could look into Arelith-specific designs hat meet the function requirements. But looks like it’s already being handled.

Hey they fixed it! It's now a nice offwhite gray color. No more white or black. Perfect.
