I've been thinking of making more wing slot accessories like the backpacks, quivers and swords we already have in game, since I think it'd be cool if we had more options for people who don't want to wear cloaks but still want something on their back. But obviously it's a lot easier to push for an update that says "added several new wing slot accessories" than it is for one that says "added 2 new wing slot accessories". So I'd like you guys to give me your suggestions!

List of things that are impossible:
(and are frequently asked for/expected to be frequently asked for)

• Things that are not directly attached to the center back, like hip items and shoulder items. The wing slot is anchored to the center back, so for example to put something on the hip would mean to move the item from the center back to the hip. This isn't a problem, except for the fact that the distance between the center back and the hip is different for each race. Something that would be attached to the hip of an orog would have to be moved so far down that it would literally be underground for a halfling, while something attached to the shoulder of a halfling would be inside the torso of an orog because a halfling's shoulder is very close to the center of their back compared to an orog. Those would be better off using the belt slot, but I'm doing wing slot accessories right now not belt slot accessories.

• Anything that matches your customized appearance weapons and shields. Sadly, you will have to match your customized weapons and shields to the appearance of the backpack and not the other way around, because doing otherwise would require modeling every single variation of every single weapon in the game and putting them into the list of wing slot accessories. That would not only be way too much work, but also would force everyone to have to sift through hundreds of weapon combinations while trying to find the other wing slot accessories.

• Making weapons and shields disappear when you draw them from your back would require a script, and it's not really worth the server's time and resources to be checking that constantly.

Are wing accessories technically limited to the back of a character or is it possible that other things can be done with the slot?

For example: some little potions on the waist, a satchel or purse slung over the shoulder, a belt of wands, additional armor bits, scrolls, and so on.

Personally I would just like different backpacks, or just one that looks better. I’m not a fan of the current one and it feels a bit jarring, but maybe that’s just me.

Anything that isn't attached to the torso wouldn't work because the wing slot is, itself, attached to the torso. So for example, something that is attached to the hip wouldn't work because if the hip moves, then the object in the wing slot would only move if the torso moves with the hip.

EDIT: Heck, for that matter anything that isn't attached to the center back wouldn't work either because everyone has a different body shape.

A book!

A banner with variants for different styles for the cloth part
Flying orbs (Kaelthas on the back)
A dead deer (would have to go over the shoulders for the legs, clipping fiesta)
More shields (Link)
A multilayered backpack with crazy amount of visible scrolls (loremaster friendly)
A "flies" vfx that has an offset on the pivot to be centered around the torso

Similar to edgy skull one but with mini-pikes with "fresh" heads on them (edgy warlord)
Same logic as your skulls but with a pike that sports a crescent moon/lathanderite sun/black sun instead

Is it easier to use existing assets?

Cos a barrel/powder keg would be fun

My suggestion is a crate, or maybe a stack of crates for that authentic deliveryman simulator when doing delivery writs. Thanks, Kojima.

And what about these huge banners from the Contest of Champions module? The module comes prepackaged with Neverwinter Nights so I will assume the banners are ready to be used.

A banner would be cool, maybe one for each of the war-focused deities too.

I also like the idea of having a big war-drum attached to the chest.

A kukri or dagger sheathed at the lower back like they said. Or a sai to compliment the samurai armor.

Also sizing down for the smaller races would be appreciated if possible. Everything looks massive on a Hin back, haha.

Furs, 100% furs. But doing so as a shoulder slot based item is probably more feasible

Also maybe an extra (longsword) scabbard model that changes colors depending on the character's outfit, if that's possible.

Also, looking forward to have a cage on my back with someone inside, who also has a cage on their back with someone inside....

The one thing I would love to see with these weapon and shield ones, is it vanishing when you equip the shield or weapon in your inventory, automatically. I have no idea if that's even remotely possible, but it would be incredibly cool.

That would require a special hook on the equip and unequip functions. It's a lot of checks for something kind of simplistic and mainly for flavor. I believe there was or is going to be a command that allows quickly toggling the back slot, which would be easier on server load.

I believe -backpack works to quick toggle that slot.

Is it possible to have a shield or weapon on your back that disappears when you actually equip your shield or weapon?

That would be neat.

Like the books but is there any way we could havs the books be slung on the hip, a lot of peeps have descriptions of having a hip slung book for wizards and ive seen neck slots and wing slots be used to that end as they are attached to the torso and thus look like they swing independent of the legs.
