Anarchic Razor VFX

This probably seems like a small thing, but it was the #1 reason I was going to pick this weapon. THE UNHOLY PURPLE GLOW OF THE DARK SUN! Now that it resembles sith lightning, it's less appealing. Was the VFX changed for any particular reason? Is it changed on PGCC only?

Wow, yeah, the new one looks a lot less cool, it's way too pink. The purple glow is the only reason anyone ever wanted this weapon. Nobody uses longswords because they're not as good as scimitars. I hope the purple glow is returned to the sword.

I don't hate the lightning and think it'd be cool as a spell fx or on another weapon, but I do think for [CYRIC SWORD] the original was way more fitting and made it a nice unique weapon where the new one is just a 3rd color of electricity now on weapons.

I'd also like to say that these purple VFX should be somehow available outside of anarchic razors and spellswords. They're just too cool.

The purple lightsaber with a black core was the coolest single piece of equipment on the server

VFX in general would be a cool addition if they weren’t limited to particular weapons. What if there was some runic chest equivalent purely for aesthetics?

Yeah. There are just so many weird things going on with VFX right now.

X weapon is automatically covered in fire.
Y weapon cannot accept any kind of VFX even though it's a legendary +4 thing.

Maybe there should be exceptions for special elementally themed weapons that are locked into the ice or acid look for example. But generally I think we should have control over the look of our gear.

Hey just bumping this thread, is there any way this change could be reverted? The old glow effect was really, really cool and suited a Cyric blade really well.

Generally this. For pretty much any weapon.

Let's have all VFX enabled on all weapons with rare/special exceptions, and let's not forget about those special cases like picks and whips where VFX are disabled or poorly rendered.

We'll revert the VFX to the prior version in an upcoming update. The change won't be retroactive, so keep that in mind if you're currently crafting one.
