Male vs Female Outfit Options

There are a large amount of female outfit options for customisation. No where near the same amount of attention is put into male models, and in most cases for cloth pieces the female options are just poorly transferred to the male phenotype. A bunch of those don't work at all, others have to be coloured in very particular ways to get it to look right.

Can suggestions be made for options for male models? There is a lot of great content on the vault, Arelith already uses a fair amount of content from other places, why not just bring some of the other models in also?

I actually put up a post on the suggestions forum a while back, but it was declined under the: More clothing options were coming. And they did. But again, 90% of the options were female clothing options. For male models there's honestly shockingly little choice. To try and make something look decent from heavy armour on a male model is 'almost' impossible. I would love for there to be more male outfit options.

it's mainly because it requires someone to actually make them, and we don't have many modelers

Just like in real life.
It's all like ... different colours of squares. At least they get pockets.

I'll happily give it a crack, but I'd need someone to teach me how to do it.

Why do we need to make things that already exist on the vault?

if you're talking about CEP, getting things out of CEP can be very difficult, it's basically a tangled ball of yarn.

models usually have to be rigged for how we have things set up too

link some examples?

Edit: oops the images are huge. Just follow the link to look at the images better.

We're missing the boots and pelvis from Lisa's Caladnei outfit.

The necklace from the Ancient Civ project works for all phenotypes and genders, and it looks beautiful.

Everything from these hakpaks are already prepared and rigged. They just need to be added to the module.

this second link is for females. we would need to have a modeler rig those up for males if we were to add them (part of what I meant before)

I don't want to poop on the graphic designers here, because the dev team works for free. But as a male who isn't into crossing the sex barrier with characters, the options do feel limited.

I like to make rogues, so I gear for rogue leathers which are a padded armor. So I always use padded armor, and I only find two chest pieces that seem to look really cool on male characters.

As a consequence, my characters end up looking very similar to each other. More chests would be a good thing.

I think the parts that need the most work in general are chest pieces, thighs, shoulders and helmets. Although to be fair the last two helmets that were added were cool.

All the things featured here in the Content challenges come prepared and rigged as well, it's just a matter of extracting the files and adding them to the module. There's a large quantity of high quality armor models and customization floating around on the Vault that can be made use of as well for customization, especially content from the community content challenge, they were created for the community by the community and are open source for people to use.
