Gems and Hoarders Update

Hey,

Just wanted to report a little thing about the rare gem update, when all the new ones were made available through loot.

It seems like you've raised the chance of them appearing in the loot, which is understandable considering the amount of different gems now available. But it's possible the chance is a little bit too high.

I've found like 6 rare gems in 2 days of hunting which didn't include opening too many high-level chests. My Search skill is 39.

Star Sapphire
Star Sapphire
Rainbow Agate
Orange Topaz
Azurite
+1 (can't remember which one it was)

For comparison, before that in about 4 weeks, only 2 gems:
Star Sapphire
Jade (mined) - only one gem while I was mining all the deposits I could find.

Without replacing an item in said loot matrices this does mean that statistically you are more likely to find a rare gem just because there's like 15 of them in the matrix now, instead of just 3. Couple that with some old fashioned good luck and this doesn't seem too anomalous.

May be worth investigating, either way.

Can confirm the rare gems appear exceedingly often.
Tend to regularly come out of a sailing trip with several from chests.

Am not sure if this is intentional and they use a separate pool that's more common than the familiar three rare gems that appeared until now, or something else is at play, but I suppose it's worth being aware of.

Also don't know if it's just the new gems that appear more often, or all of them.

I've had maybe 5 in a month with a search of 33 which is about the same as the number of map pieces I've found also.

I've been playing a treasure hunting rogue.

Hitting nearly 50 Search at level 15 right now, and so Far I've only found 4 rare gems the entire playtime of the character (Not really doing writs on this character)

3 rogue stones, 1 Berjuril.

I haven't seen any of the new gemstones.

Is this maybe linked specifically to sailing? I'm not really sure I'm seeing a major uptick in rare gemstones myself.

As of yesterday Backlands and I already reviewed the values as set against the old values.
We made some adjustments.
It is also worth noting that some gems are designed to be less rare.
Consider that things like Agate, Topaz, Malachite, Greenstone produce some of the lower tier gems and that the loot matrix went from 3 rare gems to 19 you see why you're finding them more often

To better demonstrate the order of commonality I'll put the tiers here also.

Tier 1:

Tier 2:
