A song of ice and fire
MASTER OF ILLUSIONS

Shifting to a new laptop has been bad (or good) for my screenshotting habits!

Though many may not remember, after holding onto these things for something like five IG years, Andy finally gets them placed.

Seelie altars. :) Even the NPC Nixie liked them.

Sadly, after less than 24 hrs of being there, one is missing. But, at least I got a screenie!

Nice screenies Daedin. I'm digging the armour for both characters. Nice and subtle, but with great style.

Daedlin, your images show up squeezed (deformed) and cropped, that diminishes the greatness of them.

Since you are using postimg.org as host, and adding a link to the full image under it, here's two ideas:

A) At postimg.org, use the link labeled "Thumbnail for forums (1)" and a brief description

Image
Tulin finds a cute friend

This way anyone who clicks on it will be shown the full image in all it's glory.
It will take less screen space, making it easier to browse a post with several images.

B) Use the full url but resizing the image when posting, for that, use the Full Editor option of the forum, then the button labeled fimg=

[fimg=widh,height]insert_your_image_url_here[/fimg]

In this case, I've used the URL of the full image to make the bigger "thumbnail" clickable:

Code: Select all

 [url=http://s5.postimg.org/lik9amylz/The_best_friend2.jpg][fimg=640,280]http://s5.postimg.org/lik9amylz/The_best_friend2.jpg[/fimg][/url]

And it looks like that.

-Option A is the easiest.

-Option B requires some trial&error (depends on the original dimension of the image captured by your nwn) , but once you get the dimension that looks the best without being cropped, it's just a matter of using the same dimensions every time.

Or instead of making it clickable (looks neater but requires more work), paste the full link under it.

Option C would be to use a different image host that allows more options for thumbnail sizes ;-)

I know, I know! Even in the old forums Artos and the Rambling Midget had pointed out my poor image-linking-resizing skills.

Think I'ma go with option A next time.

Thanks for the heads up and advice, doublesix!
