Wounding

Post by RedGiant » Sun Sep 22, 2019 6:24 pm

Standard default behavior for this property means that any damage reduction or damage immunity more or less negates this effect.

Since a crazy stupid amounts of MoBs have several points of DR or DI, often for no particular reason...
And since DR and DI are almost ubiquitous on gear, particularly armor and bracers...

Recommend this damage be changed to magical, so the wounding property actually does something.

This is in almost all cases 1 pt of damage per round, per wound. Wounding has a fortitude save to begin with, and it is instantly countered with any sort of healing, so I don't think this is a big deal or any sort of end-run game changer.

The property simply become viable again, for Mobs and PCs.

[Edit*: As a case in point for the current futility, watched a character (with +3/5 bracer and a wounding weapon) fight Giant Sand Crabs (with some sort of innate DR and a wounding creature weapon), and nothing but zeroes tick off over each of them. This despite each suffer qualifying initial wounds and each fail the subsequent fortitude save.]

Approved (again, unless someone informs why this one might be dangerous)
