NEVERMIND: Works with a gift of devotion.
I'm not 100% sure where to post this, since I'm not sure if it's a bug-bug, but here goes:
Description of Bug Experienced:
Half-Elf paladin, tried to choose Isis as a deity, no option to do so.
Steps to reproduce the Bug:
Make a half-elf, try to choose Isis as a deity.
Expected Result:
Paladin of Isis!
Actual Result:
Can't pick gods from the Mulhorandi Pantheon.

Additional Information/Notes
A quick search of Isis' information explicitly showed that some half-elves do worship Isis, so it's definitely not a human-only god. A glance at a few of the other gods' pages don't seem to suggest human-only worship. A half-elf, at the very least, could certainly be of Mulhorand descent on the human family's side.

Re: Half-Elf God Restrictions
Not a bug. You need to be human to select the mulhorand pantheon.
Katernin Bersk, Chancellor of Divination; Kerri Amblecrown, Paladin of Milil; Xull'kacha Auvry'rae, Redcap Fey-pacted; Sadia yr Thuravya el Bhirax, Priestess of Umberlee; Lissa Whitehorn, Archmage of Artifice

Re: Half-Elf God Restrictions
For the Large part, this seems to be true. Isis is a rather poignant exception to that rule as Isis as depicted in FR sourcebooks is quite revered by some half elves. Isis' entry mentions several times that Half Elves are among such worshipers, alongside their human counterparts. But it does elaborate that they are incredibly rare, giving a specific demographic of 0.1% of all worshipers.A glance at a few of the other gods' pages don't seem to suggest human-only worship. Meaning that it probably would not be justified to play on arelith. With as few Mulhurandi worshipers as there are comparatively, a figurative 1d1000 roll kind of character would be an oddity that wouldn't justify making a change to the back-server code for one person.
Cool idea, definately something that would have been 5% worthy back in the day.

That references the Clergy, but I'd argue that you could say a Paladin doesn't necessarily have to belong to the Clergy. If we're throwing opinions in here I see no reason why a half-elf paladin couldn't worship Isis given the precedent that there are half-elf worshippers, as long as they aren't explicitly stating they're part of the Clergy itself. A 5% roll to worship a god your race already has a set precedent for worshipping seems a bit rough even for "back in the day".Drogo Gyslain wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 2:26 amFor the Large part, this seems to be true.
