The script has been changed to allow gnomes to pass, but the script for the whole group to pass with gnomes hasn't been changed.
Hopefully this isn't deliberate! We were seriously considering leaving our non-gnome-non-svirf earthkin friends on the other side! [gnomish pranking of course]
