Martyrdom

Post by High Primate »

It finally happened: I have rolled Hal'dril Alasek, my beloved Vhaeraunite priest, in the wake of some of the best RP I have experienced on this server. I wish I had gotten to play him more, and make more of an impact on the server--my goal was to contribute something original to the server and provide some interesting conflict, and I hope I have done so, in spite of the fact that RL has become very time-consuming. Still, and thanks to the contributions of some fabulous roleplayers, I can safely say that his conclusion was highly satisfying. So, without further ado, some mentions:

Malixtra: One of my hopes for Hal'dril was for him to have an epic, toe-to-toe showdown with one of Lolth's big bads, a clash of faiths, as it were. I think a lot of players fantasize about similar scenarios, but rarely do they come to fruition. In this case, mine did, in the form of an epic one-on-one fight in Shadow Cordor between that lasted ~literally~ five minutes. One of those rare occasions on which PvP is genuinely fun, and I'm glad I finally got to interact with your character more. Thank you!

Erelyne: you boldly challenged Hal'dril and were basically the catalyst for this whole event. I've enjoyed our interactions and cannot deny the profound role you've had in shaping Hal'dril's storyline.

A kudos to everyone present in the Temple. Hopefully I entertained you. :D

Some other mentions:

Kren'fryn: Sorry you could not be present for this. Suffice it to say, Kren is an awesome character with a lot of depth, and I've enjoyed our interactions very much.

Nes'iat: An brilliant and wily thief. I very much enjoyed Hal'dril's conversations with your character about their respective faiths and the nature of the drow's relationship with the elves.

Sword and Axe: two of the best, most hilarious grind buddies anyone could ask for.

In addition, thanks go out to Mystery Clock (both as Ardulace and Asb'el), and the players of Vrigor, Nihlanna, Anthrys, Philip, and K'yorl (all of house Xal'rae, really), Talon, Phael'ryn, Sirax, and Ardultanta, for some fun albeit brief experiences that helped shape the character early on. My apologies for anyone I've skipped, but you know who you are!

Also, a thanks to DM GrumpyCat for facilitating some of my character's roleplay and DM Titania for a funny little cameo in last night's showdown.

Last but not least: Tassos. It was a good laugh. :)

Thanks to all, and have fun out there in RP land!

Right back at you on, all interactions with Hal'dril were always a blast - tense with the underlying threat of combat, even when they fought their little war through mediums - the final showdown was long overdue and played out amazingly; think we were both bloodied to badly wounded several times during that; if only it were recorded.
I'm just amazed you could type as long as you did during that! Took all my focus countering and repositioning!

Props to all who attended the public address following the fight and extra kudos to Hal'dril for going along with it - you were an absolute star!

Thanks! I had the same thought and woulda done so, but NWN always crashes when I use FRAPS for some reason--not so with higher end games.

Sorely disappointed we never got to do Vhaeraun stuff together, but I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next.
