Normal Rewards

Post by Sea Shanties »

There's suddenly a lot of nice greater award races and not much enticing for normal unless you really want a good kobold, a troglodyte or a neutral pale master.

So.. What if one could trade two or three normal rewards for one greater reward? Considering the chance of getting one or the other is pretty close anyway.

I don't think this would work for trading up minor rewards (too easy to get) or for major rewards (too major) but normal and greater are pretty close and maybe this would be nice consolation for someone who rolled a few epics and can't get that greater they're after.

I know this is dangerously close to being a suggestion.

I was thinking about this, but given the ease of grinding to 16 it must be difficult to balance well. I do agree Normal awards feel lackluster, but maybe that's the intention?

I will say the good kobold award is pretty great. You could ask about playing a gold or silver RDD who worships Bahamut iirc. That opens some huge doors.

We won’t be trading rewards up for higher tiers.

However, we will continue to invest time and look for alternative options to rotate in the future. I assure you that the team is considering what can be fun and reasonable to play in our setting.

Fair enough. Hopefully the new greater rewards won't be rotated out any time soon, I really want to play a Yuan-Ti but am nowhere near being able to roll a character and haven't had good luck with the sacrifice dice.

That would be great because for myself, for example. I dont want to play in UD on principle and that pretty much leaves me with just the -2 ecl option for normal awards.

What happens if you spend a higher reward on a lower option? For example, say you have a Greater Reward but you're spending it on a Minor Reward.

As someone who did that on a noble reward before -3ECL and these races, you cry.

Really, though, nothing happens except you get the reward
