Mundane Enchanting (Dweomercrafting)

Post by Salleh » Fri Sep 27, 2019 10:06 am

Hi there,

My apologies for asking a potentially asked question.

I have a rogue, L19, 15 Craft Weapon +2 INT -> 17 total.
He is also a follower of Bel which has Knowledge and Invention.

When he tried to enchant things recently, it would seem that nothing has changed.
Did anyone experience this recently?

Also, -date shows nothing new regarding mundane enchanting. There is no information.

My question is: How do mundane characters unlock enchanting tiers?

Thanks in advance!

Mundane Dweomercrafting

If the character follows a deity with the Knowledge and Invention aspect, one Mundane Tier is gained for each of the following:

Skill Focus or Epic Skill Focus feats in either Craft Weapon or Craft Armor.
+1 Tier each time the total ranks invested in skills Craft Weapon or Craft Armor reach 15, 25, and 35.
Notice that whether you gain a tier or not depends on how many skill ranks you have invested in Craft Armor/Weapon. Bonus from intelligence or other sources do not count; only the invested skill ranks when you level up count. Are you sure that you have 15 ranks invested?

Thanks for the response,

Yes, there are 15 invested skill ranks in Craft Weapon. (unmodified)
Exactly why I'm wondering if anyone else had the issue.

Is it maybe >15? As in, should have 16?

invested ranks means nothing beside the fact you need some for
https://nwn.fandom.com/wiki/Epic_skill_focus
skill focus craft armor = 1 tier
skill focus craft weapon = 2 tier
epic skill focus armor or weapon focus = 3 tier

Oh.

Well that's wonderfully unclear.

What about the whole 15, 25, 35 wiki quote? Is that deprecated?
+1 Mundane Point each for having Craft Weapon or Craft Armor skills at 15, 25, or 35.
+1 Mundane Point each for having Skill Focus or Epic Skill Focus feats in either Craft Armor or Craft Weapon.
EDIT: Added quote.

oh...

viewtopic.php?f=23&t=25&p=187708&hilit=Mundane#p187708

it's in the update topic. so i guess the wiki person just copy pasted from yellowcateyes.

can't see the reason for taking the feats if you get it for free, by just taking skills tho. :?

Well, not everyone has the luxury of an abundance of feats (looking at you Fighters/CoTs!) and on the other has an abundance of skills... yay, rogues!

I'm still hoping to get an official feedback.

I hope I can get some medicorum of enchanting going on for this character.

15 skill ranks only gives you 1 tier that won't stack with magic tier. What is your current dweomercraft tier?

I don't think I have a Dweamercraft tier, that's why I'm here asking about it :)

-date doesn't show anything
Prices for enchants remain the same.

Are you attuned to another God. I believe you have to be attuned to a K&I god to get the dweomercraft tiers. I can test this later today.

Ah, attunement.

I might be attuned to Umberlee by accident.
... How does one clear an attunement?

How though?

If I go to an Altar, I'll just attune to another non-Bel deity, right?

Do it twice.
Katernin Bersk, Chancellor of Divination; Kerri Amblecrown, Paladin of Milil; Xull'kacha Auvry'rae, Redcap Fey-pacted; Sadia yr Thuravya el Bhirax, Priestess of Umberlee; Lissa Whitehorn, Archmage of Artifice

Make sure it is a K&I deity.

Alright, listen up guys.

Thanks for all your hard work and help, I found a solution.

... And I'll post it here in order not to be a colossal Shark like people usually are on the forums.

@Xerah, you were right.
Only it wasn't enough to attune again.

I had to attune four times.

So, I was accidently attuned to Umberlee. I went to an Umberlee altar.
I attuned once - It said I am now attuned to Umberlee. (I was already)
I attuned again - Type -date -> Still attuned to Umberlee.
I attuned yet again - I am now attuned to Umberlee again.
I attuned for the fourth time - I am now attuned to my Patron deity.

I now have Dweomercrafting Tier I.

Thank you very much for your input, I wouldn't have gotten it otherwise.

That's kind of impossible to happen, but at least you got it fixed.
