Spellsword/Swashbuckler On-Hit Bug

Post by xanrael »

This is on the PGCC so it may not be an issue on live.

21 spellsword, 5 swashbuckler, 4 fighter

Cast maximized enervation, maximized chain lightning on an equipped m. damask dagger, everything works fine.

If however I place it in my inventory and reequip, equip a shield, etc the on-hit effects goes away on the blade, they also do not trigger looking at the combat log. The +1d12 negative energy and +1d12 electricity damage stays though and the swashbuckler +damage as well.

For the off-hand the swashbuckler bonus to damage does not apply at all, but also the on-hit effect doesn't seem to disappear if unequipped and reequipped and works fine as shown in the combat log.

It doesn't appear to be specific to those spells either, tried ray of frost and the same thing happened.

That’s possibly because spellsword is coded to only be able to have 2 “on hit effects” on their weapons, and the on hit effect from swashbuckler counts towards this - interfering with the code.

The same bug also happens on the Arelith servers. And also triggers on single imbues.

Insightful strike and spellsword on-hit effects cancel each other out. But they should both work together, independent of the number of imbues available to the Spellsword.
