Reduce time spent at sea sailing.

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

Reduce time spent at sea sailing.

Post by Nulstarius »

Back when we first had the ship system added, you would sails tops 3 hours between finding something. Then the ship system got expanded, which was ace, much more to find. And in general the whole ship thing and sailing is just amazing. However it seems that lately you can sail for ages and ages without finding absolutely anything. And I do mean ages, just had another 8 ig hours of sailing and finding absolutely nada except a single harpy attack. I've experienced this sailing with others same as alone so it's not dependent on party size.

Perhaps you got between things a bit too quick back when it was first added, but it is a bit painful presently. Perhaps time spent searching could be reduced just a wee bit, or the chance of finding something could be increased, just a wee bit. I got no idea how that system actually works, but it would be nice to just find -something- after 8 ig hours of what feels like sailing in circles.

Again I am not saying you should find something every 6 minutes, it is an ocean and its big. But fun>realism, I am tempted to say. It's just that sailing for near an entire RL hour and finding nothing is discouraging.

I really love the ships, and the things and places you can find are so much spice and super well made, so please, make it possible to have a bit more luck actually finding just something.

And I am referring to the option for when you scour the seas.
