Specialisations to paths?

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

Specialisations to paths?

Post by Naghast »

So, to once again make it very simple.

Mayhaps, it could be possible to change wizard specialisations to instead be like cleric paths?
Currently, the only way to change a wizard specialisation (if you took wiz at lvl 1) would be to either remake or get help from a DM, which... Well... Is a thing.
So, i think it'd be nice if it was a path token spent at like, lvl 3 wiz, so there is this possibility of changing the path, if someone, for example, mistakenly takes transmutation specialisation on a non-necromancer wizard.

Specialisation can be changed by asking for DM tokens and is a considerable cost that Wizards choose to never learn anything of a school to focus on another, this is reflected in the lack of spell access and so, being able to swap Specialisation is rather odd and is why needs a DM.

Denied.
