Going through a long dungeon, some multiple hours (like doing all of mourn, or that new Formian one), just to get an ore of arjale or mithral is very demotivating, especially with so much requiring adamantine now. Likewise, it's no fun to RP with people, join a party and get nothing from a runic chest because one of them looted the chest that day. Even worse if you get stuck with useless mithral AND no runic material.
Problems:
- Current Runic system disincentives partying, and thus RP
- Current ores incentivize circle grinding whenever the ores spawn of that type
- Neither system is actually fun, 9/10 times you just end up frustrated
Suggestion:
- Make adamantine spawn at specific locations 100% of the time
- Make it so that you get a max 4 adamantine ore and max of 1 greater/masterwork runic material per 48-72 hours, per player
- Make it so that you get gold or mithal ore instead of adamantine, and lesser runes until the 48-72 hours is up.
Benefits:
- You always know where to find the materials you need, this makes it more fun
- Heavily reduced oversupply of adamantine, as each player would only be able to get 6 ingots/week (rather than 10-20)
- Make it easier for leveling characters to know where to go, and have more luck getting their own adamantine rather than just hoping to get lucky
- More incentive to party up with friends to do dungeons, as it'll let you bypass the runic material cooldown

Alternatively, just make addy spawn at a half a dozen surface/UD locations 100% of the time, because arjale/mithral are useless and not even worth mining past level 16
