I'm unable to select the totem ranger path with the -path command after taking my first ranger level. This applies both to the live servers and pgcc. The animal npc in the pgcc that lets you make a totem bargain still works.
Was the totem path removed or is the game bugging?
You can select the Totem path when in the starting room and you are selecting things like height, awards, gifts, and so on. OR you can select a Totem path by speaking with one of two FOIG NPCs who will offer you different Totem options, once you have 4 or more Ranger levels, as the trigger for the conversation with the NPCs is based on Spellcasting access, which Rangers get at level 4. The two NPCs have different Totem options, based on their thematic location, so if one does not offer what you want, you will need to seek out the other NPC.
It's not something you can just select by typing -path.
The character had a level 3 start and I didn't start ranger. There was no way for me to get this path in the starting area. Is there any way to put in a support ticket or get help with this? The whole "has a bat" angle is critical to the character.
You will need to get to 4 levels of Ranger, then go speak with one of the two NPCs. There is no other way.
