Juniper Oakley Farewell

Post by Cthuletta »

Sooo the time has come. After over two years of playing Juni, she's being set up on that high shelf that I'd need a step-stool for.

There's so many people I've had the joy of playing with, stories I've been apart of and friends I've made that if there was a forum character limit somewhere, I'd probably hit it if I tried to list everyone out! So to every single person I've interacted with, whether you were Juniper's friend, ally, acquaintance or even enemy, thank you for making this character story one of the best I've had in a very long time.

In the words of the firey-tempered tiefling herself, "Don't do anything I wouldn't do! Ain't a long list, but it's there."

Juniper Oakley - Exploring the World

Haven't always seen eye to eye with Juni, but over the years you've led to many tears! Some from deep scenes, others from pissing myself laughing, like one of the first times you and Mari met! (Atleast I think this was you... uuuh)

I like to imagine Juniper leaving the island the way Dib first really saw her: being thrown by a minotaur.

Thoroughly crafted backstory and well-played evolving storylines woven wonderfully. Kudos, per this forum.

P.S. Fainda Vineshigh would definitely offer kindness to her should she ever travel to Vineshade. And, of course, this would include a permanent writ of protection from the Thieves Guild...if such an entity truly exists. ;)

The Hin that started it all for the Zala Shumin. Ya brought me over to Arelith as Juni and we've had a lot of fun adventures together as sisters. Like Zal said in her farewell, "I hope to see you again and know you will find refuge among my Clade. Papa will take care of you while you're there."

Gonna miss the other half of the Trouble Sisters but here's hoping that we can RP again on your other characters, whomever they may be.

I remember a decent while ago, there was a very unfortunate incident on the Ironhelm, back during the old Brog days. A shipkiller had killed the Helm, and had scattered what crew was on it to the seas. Now, I thought “well, here we go” and accepted my way to the death area.

But, I found myself on a loading screen to the Leviathan instead, washed up like a wet rat along with two others of the Ironhelm’s crew. That day, I had the fortune of meeting not only Juniper, but a lot of very good people who I now call friend. Zalata Reva, for one. A greater stroke of luck than any I could hope for- and it only snowballed since.

From then, to now, I am reminded of a character who stuck to themselves through thick and thin, being a beacon of goodliness and the occasional goofiness. A good friend, a devilish plotter (when it came to relationships), and a stalwart believer in the good path- even when it drained her. (I still recall Weatherstone, in my nightmares).

I can’t thank you enough for the friendship since that daft Ironhelm incident, and can’t wait to see what characters end up in the world- crafted by your hand.

Honestly, there is so much I could say and I too don't want to reach the character limit. But in summary, Juni was an absolute delight to have around me. She helped Thomas develop more in many ways and even made him tolerant to Tieflings. While they constantly butted heads early on, their relationship changed after he helped to break her free from the collar. They've gone through so much together and their respect for one another only grew more and more until eventually it became a family bond.

Our farewells were bittersweet. I am so happy Juni found a happy ending and that you yourself have been able to tell her story in full. But I will miss her very much. I look forward to meeting your new character eventually.

Sil and Juniper had their fights and their good times. Going to the wedding after the Weatherstone mess was a nice little peacemaker! Good luck with whatever comes next!

There are so many things that I wish I could say but do not have the words to express them. I know Rav and Juniper had a roller coaster of a relationship, but it has been fun watching you play her the past two years. I was not there when you initially said goodbye was told through the grapevine. She will be sorely missed. Whatever comes next for you, I have no doubt will likely be another impactful character!

Juniper grew into one of Ginny's closest friends. She always came across as very human. Going to miss seeing her around.
