Elementalist Inadvertently Gets Familiar

Description of bug experienced:
With the recent changes to Familiars, as I was releveling my Elementalist to change spells, I noticed that we were able to choose familiars now. I am unsure if this is intended so I am reporting this as a bug since Elementalists were never given Familiars since they were released (unless this is a new feature, for which I am eternally grateful).

Steps to reproduce the bug:

Choose a Familiar during selection.
Summon Familiar.

Expected Result:
A Familiar should not be summoned.

Actual Result:
Summon Familiar as chosen during level-up.

Just to be clear: can you summon a familiar without needing to take the familiar feat? Or did you take the familiar feat?

Familiars were recently overhauled. As per https://wiki.nwnarelith.com/Familiar
Arcane Archer, Bard, Invoker, Palemaster, Dragon Disciple, and Loremaster can all take it and all count towards its progression.

Classes that CAN take the familiar feat will see the familiar customization window, even if they didn't take the feat. That's unfortunately an engine limitation.
You have to take the feat to summon a familiar.
