Does settlement storage have a timer where the contents disappear?

No, not that I recall.
But sometimes they break (ie. Bugged when left open due to lag. It wont say "newly saved items"... when it happens, it best to take everything from that storage and put it on the toon to wait next reset.) Just have to listen to the opening sound and closing sound. If you dont hear either, you can assume its broken. Guldorand Bank doesnt have these sounds though.

There's also a possibility that your storage was hijacked with a stealther thief while you're opening it. Its considered excessive theft though when all of it was taken.

Thanks for the info. I'm more asking because I travel for work and sometimes can't log in for 2+ weeks so storage in a quarter is not feasible for me or respectful of other players. Wondering if my stuff will disappear from inactivity if I use settlement storage.

I've been gone for extended periods.. longest one was 1 year, should be safe to place them there for now.

But its better to put them on your person just to be doubly safe. XD. Park near the storage system too.
