Daijin's Farewell Kudos

Post by LuxAeternaGone »

It has been an absolute trip. Some great moments, some not so great, but all worthwhile. The character was remarkably enjoyable to play but only because she was in a world of remarkable vibrant people who breathed life into the day to day. The list is long of people Id like to thank. Some have moved on; new characters or new server. But all made things special. So in no particular order, a sincere kudos to the following people and their players.

Amadeo Pneuma: You are such a trip, in the best way. From the philosophy, to the dry wit, to the endless solution for the many isle's troubles. Interacting with you was truly enjoyable and you gave my character the opportunity of a lifetime. Thank you. Also, thank god we have 78 years of peace, right?

Kata Talos: A well done sorceror, an endless source of humor, and a great leader. Kata was Daijin's best friend but she was also the mage Daijin wished she could be.

Verankht Zarunkumar: Consummate grump, vastly intelligent, the player is also absolutely hilarious. I raise a glass of milk to you sir, no apples. The player is also a master of the build, great with mechanics. They've helped me more times than I can count.

Mithrim Ossear: Oh her dear brother who rose with her through a combination of perseverance, hard work, and copious amounts of alcohol. The player is, and Im biased here <3, super fun and throws their all into making the communities they are part of great.

Roland Asen: Daijins friend, Daijin's enemy. The very epicenter of Daijin's hatred and love. But also a talented mage who is good at villainous roleplay. But despite it all, they stick to their guns never backing down. Their end was great.

Kalimere: Ive dealt with two of your characters now for an extended period of time. Both were awesome and enjoyable and entirely amusing. Your tells are also the things that keyboards are ruined over. Thank you so much for the fun.

Mara'kia Corbael: The cold hard moral truth at the center of the universe. Mara's player really shone at depicting a dedicated clergyman of their god, someone with a real moral spine. The player seems to have a nice solid grasp on all their chars and is an excellent roleplayer with a great sense of humor to go with it. I hope we are fwends for a long time.

Toad McBanner: Toad is a complicated character played by a player who loves to have a fun time. You never really know with Toad but you always know that Toad is going to stand up and declare something. A wonderful opportunity to interact with and someone who can prove you dont need to be on Team Good or Team Evil to be someone of importance. Keep being on Team Toad.

Marcus Nephular Demarin: A great player, awesome to talk to, impeccable music taste. But the character leaves and breathes being a soldier and makes it come alive. The interactions with Marcus have been golden. Thank you for giving me the opportunity.

Nelehein: I know the player has moved on from the server but they were such an inspiration. Continually coming upon their writings was a treat, their inspiration was far more lasting than the life of their character. The character became Daijin's hero and lasting inspiration. Kudos to you sir.

Giogi Silveroak: Oh the wonderful backbone that kept the Cordor system going. Giogi's player is just as cheery as positive as he is. With a nice sense of humor, an openness to anyone, and an affable manner that made him a perfect regular for a starter city, Giogi was an asset to his city. And a great addition to the server. Every moment hanging out with him was amazing.

Filtel: Oh the kudos for this player can go on and on. They are the cheeriest, most positive, and best. They love to contribute to the server as a whole as it shows. Their roleplay is fraught with conflict, tension, and dicey moral questions that really engage another person. Never too proud too lose, never too tragic to win; I loved every moment with each of their characters. They were a treat.

Annette De Lussan: Daijin's best bro and confidant and the ultimate badass. Annette is great to interact with, a strong sense of character, lore, and goals that made everyone moment vibrant. Thanks for the excellent roleplay we shared.

The Myon Crew: Myon is a unique environment with a style of interaction that you dont see anywhere else. Sometimes light hearted, sometimes serious, but the love is always there. It is like a big family tree with some squirrels, some nuts, and a whole lot of fun. Kudos Shalifil, Arianna, Elessar, Villindra, Aryaler, Marakia, Mithrim, Elcion, Verimial, Asherrin, Aniri, Orion, and Xarina. I'm sure there are a whole ton more I am forgetting and I apologize.

Arelith Rangers: An oldie but a goodie. Lucard, Gwen, and Shera. You really introduced my char to the nuances of Faerun nature lore, of how it connects to other mechanical elements in game, and pushed home the importance of playing your character and letting the world change them. You were all fun. Lucard (and Bronson) were legends in Daijin's minds, people she never forgot, often missed, and made the forest great.

Cordor Crew: Adalbrandt, Etana, Torstein, Storm, Shadow, and Rat A great group that provide much tension and conflict within the allies themselves. Thanks so much for letting Daijin be the permanent gadfly and for doing so much with so much opposition. Great roleplay all around.

Anduil: This player has tons of good concepts but a real talent with words. Gifted, very humorous, and with characters that never blend into the background, interacting with him has always been a treat from my early days on Daijin. Thank you.

Sephir Vezir : Considering the great Far Realms direction this player was going with their roleplay, Im so disappointed to know Ill be missing out on the inevitable awesome. Thanks for our first interactions, thanks for our last.

Septire A great player, a helpful player, and creative. Funny to the core with a cynical sense of humor and intense detail put into their characters. But thanks for all the help you have given me. Also, on a side note. You didnt poison the pastry so ..I reported you to the DMs. Bad assassin

If I did not mention your name, it was not out of slight. But as a player Im sometimes just running about with fluff in my head. So a kudos to you, thank you for making Arelith awesome.

Storm wants to KILL but I think it's important that sometimes allies are at odds. People DON'T always get along, even when they're on the same side and that's important. I am positive more fun awaits. <3

So, Daijin has been around through roughly 11 characters of mine. Some hit epic, some did not.

It has Definitely been interesting watching how her RP had changed over the RL years she has existed for better at times and at worse for others. Her particular brand of charm managed to alienate three of those characters of the six that met her. I always used to laugh and say that it took talent to be able to do that!

She was even the catalyst back in the day of starting a romance between my character and another out of jealousy because of her trying to cultivate the fellow to replace her current love interest and my character flipped the table on it.

One would expect, especially of late, that Daijin would be running around trying to forcibly bind people into a happy ball of cooperation against their will and being irate at how people just did not want to do it!

She was definitely a character. Love her, hate her IC, doesn't matter. She was both intent on abolishing conflict while her very existence at times started it.

I think she has earned her ride off into the sunset at this point, hopefully for a happier ending.

Daijin has always been a favorite of mine, even if there have been characters of mine have not been super fond of her (Daijin still has to marry Anduil in a century or two though...or else :P). The player is awesome too and I love every interaction we have. I look forward to what you bring next!

Daijin was one of the first Characters Laura bumped into and at first she was like 'Please somebody gag her', but over the years, she grew more and more fond of her, even though there were moments, where Laura was absolutely confused what team Daijin was playing on.

Interactions were few, but I enjoyed them none the less. She was someone who has inspired, influenced and moved a lot of charaters. Kudos to you.

wow. your char walked into the collosseum yesterday as i was logging out with my newest char. shoulda stuck around a bit for some last chance chattin. didn't figure Daijin was ever gonna die heh.

don't think we had that that much interaction aside from Ta'li hostility at the tower and the occasional bump in, mostly differing rp circles, but such an old char that has lots goin on will certainly change things by being absent.

gl on whatever you do next.

Nevermind how upset Ast is going to be, I saw the title of this thread and went "Oh, no!" :(

Daijin was awesome. Ast looked up to her in a lot of ways, even though at the end they argued. I hope his message got passed on, that he made his decision not out of anger, but love. Ast would be sad if she died thinking he was mad at her.

I enjoyed my interactions with the character, and she will be missed- looking forward to your next idea.

One of the coolest things about Arelith and roleplaying is you never really understand the impact your character can have.

It's always a particularly emotional thing, to see such a long-lasting and beloved character go - because with it, so does a bit of history.

Kudos.

(and I'm still here! and still waiting for the opportune moment)

Yea sure, bail out just as Riz'zen was on the look out for Daijin. Ah well, you played her for quite a long time and typed to damn fast for me to be able to even try to rp with ya,lol. But it was good to have some interaction with ya from time to time.

See ya around

So sad to have missed Daijin's farewell!
Nyx returned just too late and I'm so sad about it.
Daijin was an amazing addition to the Isle and helped so many grow! She will be missed sorely - also our boy talks.
